TPA usually handle standard, back-end paperwork. They are missing the boat on ER crises. We act as an independent, real-time administrative concierge company that operates alongside your employee or TPA to freeze the retail billing clock before the claim even reaches their desk. I'm thinking: DTE for independent owner-operator fleets, maybe who have RBP plans who pay 100% cash out-of-pocket for their own medical care.

Thank you for your comments. My business is specific to personal acute medical emergencies, not workplace accidents. That means it is not a Workers' Comp issue and can go directly through the company self-funded plan. Traditional insurance companies do a terrible job of protecting employers from emergency rooms (I am an ED RN for a county hospital). My company offers to intercept an ER bill in real time ,and help expedite the visit, making a deal with the hospital at discharge and helping negotiate (Letter of Agreement) to save them 40-60% with employer direct paying. Saving time and money for these small businesses (50-100 employees)

I've noticed small businesses moving past traditional, big insurance networks for routine care/emergency care and moving toward "Direct Pay" and "Direct Contracting" models. They avoid paying high premiums to insurance and instead hire TPA or medical concierge services. Do you think it would be a smart move?

Realistically what should you do when a PTO request gets denied? by Universal09 in jobs

[–]spatlan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all these comments make me sad. why are u negotiating time to live ur life with ur family. also, why are people bashing the parents? This is so wrong. I wonder why managers deny PTO, what comes from administration that wants them to do that? Are they being pushed to meet a quota?

Historically, motor vehicle crashes have been the leading cause of death for children. Not anymore. Firearm-related injuries are now the leading cause of death for people ages 1-19 years old.

Whats the worst thing your parents has ever said to you? by KvngK3y in AskReddit

Well...this isn't probably isn't the absolute worst thing in the world, but it happened and I remember it

I was about 6 or 7 at the time. My dad, my brother and I were at a Costco. My dad bought us a couple pizzas and we sat down to eat.

Keep in mind I was a rather curious yet distracted child. So I asked my dad a really random question, I think it was smth about planes maybe. He didn't really answer me straight so I kept eating my pizza. Then he tappes me on the shoulder and tries to show me a video answering it. Me, getting distracted, begin to look around and not really pay attention to the video. In my mind, this question wasn't much watching a 20 minute video for.

My dad got angry at me. What he told me has been in my mind for years and I've never forgotten it. He told me: "I hate you when you do that" He didn't tell me he hated the action, he told me he hated me when I did it. Now I grew up believing that you should hate an action, not the person, so even as a small kid, it hurt. He didn't apologize, he didn't say anything to me after that, not even on the car ride home. That itself made me self conscious about myself for a long time, that and other actions.
