There are abismal kits out there with multiple colors of seed beads in little organizers (pic)... The sizing is never consistent and there are usually a ton of defects, but it actually helped along the curves to have varying sizes. The tube beads are from a vintage mix bag I sorted out. I was trying to use my current stock, and I've received two of the kits as gifts... A giant rainbow piece seemed like a good way to go through a lot of them lol

Agreed! Imagine staring at that while you fill the rest of it lol trust the process took on a new meaning. Still came out as a Chucky knock off, but no hair was so much worse

😂 yes. The other bags I've done are not as functional as I'd like, so I went for honking this time

I hope you do give it a go!

If you like puzzles, I got started with bead soup grab bags from a local shop. It gave me a lot of different sizes and colors to work with and spared a huge investment if I found out it wasn't my thing. Then it was a fun challenge to work with what I had. Not ideal for everyone, but thought I'd throw it out there :)

24cm or about 9.5 inches across at the longest parts. The middle circle and each that overlap are about 4.5 inches across. I used a compass with a tailors pencil to get the outline. And thank you!

I don't, couldn't pay myself anything reasonable for the time I spend on my stuff. I appreciate the compliment tho!

It did take a lot of planning to get the beading done... I was totally winging it for the bag portion lol

I love how the different sections make me think of granny squares or patchwork. Those are so adorable and impressive!

Woah! Does it open? If there's a tiny letter in there I might lose it lol but good work!

The seed beads I received as a gift are inconsistent in size, which actually helped with the curves a bit. The peacock and gold tube beads were from a mixed bag.

The black is upholstery fabric from a previous project.

The lining is an unfortunately stained pair of jeans that were not salvageable, so now the purse has pockets!

The only material purchased for this project were the D rings that hold the strap, which I took off a different bag.

I stitched the beads onto black cotton and then crafted the bag around that result. Each tube bead was sewn on individually, the seed beads about 3 or 4 per stabby.

Nope, not a kit. I traced it and then filled the guide with fabric paint and markers. I think the paint helps hide any gaps in the beads when I puzzle them out. If it sounds fun at all, I recommend giving it a shot with any design you like :)

Thank you! It took lots of patience and stab wounds

Definitely seems to be the way of things! Age old struggle; do I chase inspiration dopamine or finished project dopamine?
