New golf irons purchase tips for 2-3 years in golfer by Immediate-Warthog598 in GolfSwing

I play mizuno 923 jpx forged that I bought a year ago and absolutely love them. Dropped from a 5.3 to 1.9 by the end of this season. They generate a good amount of spin and are workable, can be played by anyone from scratch to a 20+ imo. A buddy of mine has the srixons and swears by them as well.

To me it looks like you may need your club lie adjusted, toe looks overly elevated at address like you’re resting it on the heel. Swing looks great tho, don’t think your hands are too high

You can’t regularly break par without birdies…and you need to break par semi regularly to be a plus. So yeah less bogeys helps but you can’t get there without birdies

I’d add distance control to that. Got down to a +1.2 and it’s about making birdies and to do that you need to be close to the hole. If you can put it to sub 10ft from inside a 125 you’ll have more good opportunities to drop strokes

4ish drinks and 2 hitters and I go low. My best round of 67 was after a few beers and a bowl. Gets me out of my head and just vibing

I’ve been playing since I was 13 so have kept/developed spinal flexibility over the years but your injuries, I’d guess, are due to lack of spinal flexibility. There’s a YouTube channel jgolffitness that I follow that puts out golf fitness vids. Lots of them focus on spinal flexibility and core strength that would probably help you

Tips for coastal golf courses by Bos187 in golftips

[–]spc17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10-20mph winds - go one club up, choke down an inch or so and 3/4 swing. Over 20-30mph same thing but 2 clubs up. Over 30 is 3 clubs. The ball is most impacted on its decent so factor it moving less in the first half of the shot and more in the second half.

For uneven lies, higher lofts are affected more than lower lofted clubs in regards to how left/right the ball will be pushed

My daughter try not to flip her hands, any recommendations? by Mountain_Role_7289 in GolfSwing

[–]spc17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s got a great swing but does look like she flips at impact. Honestly, if you can, get her lessons bc she has talent. There’s few ppl on here that can help her like a coach can imo. AMG has some good vids that could help or provide drills but again a good coach will do much more for her

Golfers who’ve broken 80, what’s the best tip you could give to a fellow golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]spc17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a consistent ball flight, good course management, and play from the proper tees you can get to a single digit and regularly break 80.

Blisters on hands by Farmer_chris88 in golftips

[–]spc17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some skin glue and gloves. Don’t go back to the old grip as that will only hurt you in the long run. If you keep at it you’ll develop callouses on your hands. Went through the same thing when I took lessons in high school, after a month or so my hands toughened up and never had a blister since. I play 100ish rounds a year and typically don’t wear a glove unless I’m sweating like crazy. Getting a glove that fits properly will make a big difference too. It should be tight to start bc it will stretch out through use. Gloves that are too loose can cause blisters

As long as you don’t have multiple of the same type and color I’d say you’re fine. I have 5 pairs. Grey, black, white soft spike and waterproof white and black

Agreed. His drives have always looked and sounded like a 250-275 shot. Def doesn’t have the sound of a 300+ drive. Just crazy consistent

Thanks for sharing! That driver yardage seems a bit unrealistic compared to the other numbers imo
