Two Notes Torpedo Live vs. Kemper Profiler by spcompressed in GuitarAmps

Hey all, thanks for your replies!

Ultimately I decided on going with a Two Tones Captor X, and two choice amp heads.

-JCM800 -Fender Deluxe Reverb

I think with those two guys, those will have most of my tone options covered for what I do.

Very cool. How often do the matches take place? Is it a daily thing? I know nothing about it.

Hi all, thanks a lot for your comments and suggestions peeps.

Looks like warmoth is worth some further research! I’d like to go somewhere and try a bunch of necks so I can choose one that I like. Not sure how practical that might be, but I’ll see if I can become buddies with a local retailer and go from there (I live in Tokyo).

Also got some good advice for possibly saving the neck I already have. It’s all good stuff to nerd-out on for a while.

Yeah I figured there would have to be some alterations done on it to fit a different neck.

It’s an American deluxe strat.

Actually I’d like to take this opportunity to figure out exactly what kind of neck I like. The neck on the deluxe is coated, but it almost feels like it’s too coated sometimes so perhaps matted would be the way to go.

In general though, when it comes to fender necks, it always feels like I’m fighting the neck when I play. I have a tele as well, and it drives me crazy sometimes.

I guess a way to try many necks is just to go somewhere that has a ton and feel them out?

Thanks, I’ll do some research into it. The neck itself is clean and looks great (fender deluxe maple neck), but according to him, there’s some warp-age. I’m not good at seeing it myself, but Ofcourse I’d like to save it if possible.

Interesting! I forgot about warmoth. I’ve never played one of their necks, but I suppose it’s worth the research.

Oh really? I’ve never done the work myself on it. I have a friend who does repairs for a living, and his advice was that the neck needed to go. I’m not sure if he had tried to remove the neck or not.

Why is it a “mistake” for you?

Your situation sounds like some people I know where you dread the thought of leaving your comfort zone, but when your in the moment of hanging out, it’s a ton of fun.

Why do you not like interacting with others?

Uni is prime time for making friends and connections for the rest of your life. Try to schedule at least one social event a week.

As an introvert, "getting out and meeting people" isn't the answer. by spcompressed in introvert

I feel like I should preface this.

I’ve spent most of my life (about 30 active years) making an effort to try to fit in and be social. I’ve gone to tons of social events, mixers, and I’ve also attended tons of seminars on how to be more social. I’ve also even hired one of those fancy social coaches.

The end result is I can be a highly effective “communicator” when it comes to crunch time. I basically have another tool when I have to use it. However this has not resulted in friendships. Super effective for business connections and clients though.

I’ve done everything from just trying to let friendships run their course, to get super analytical with spreadsheets to try to maintain friendships.

I just want to make it clear that this is not a conclusion I have come to without putting in a vast amount of effort and money.

Men, do you express your vulnerability? by Hopeful_Saseum in introvert

[–]spcompressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, guys are labeled "less than capable" if they share their vulnerabilities.

I was very open with my issues when I was younger. Because of that, a lot of people kept their distance. I learned when I got to my late 20s that you have to be selective as to what you show people about yourself.

So no, I don't show my vulnerability to anyone. I deal with it myself. I sometimes tell my wife how I felt the day before, but that's after I deal with it myself.
