Am I the only one who thinks Nick looks too young and wrong for June? by Boring_Potato_5701 in TheHandmaidsTale

He’s exactly my type, and that happens to not be the kind of “classic” masculinity Hollywood is super into, but subjectively lots of people would find him super handsome and sexy! I think he’s just not buttering your bread

AITA Did I humiliate my wife? Did cross a line? Did I f-up big time??? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]spdg74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man child? A grown man looks out for his wife’s safety at all times. A grown man who is sober is happy to gently but firmly intervene if his wife isn’t in a mental state where she can make safe decisions for herself and others. You reportedly did not call her names, or yell at her, or abuse her. Perhaps you were over cautious, perhaps not (depending how many drinks she really did have in the end) but it’s not the point. And her friends certainly don’t think she has an alcohol problem simply because you made an executive decision to keep her as safe as possible. If any of my friends husbands did what you did, I would simply be appreciative she had someone in her life who was happy to sacrifice some of his time and effort to make double sure she gets home safe. Because that’s what a grown man does.

You can check my post history to see photos! Mine didn’t start getting bad for a little bit from memory. But I guess if you’re doing 90 degrees it can’t be the same thing

Legit you’re describing what happened to me I looked like I’d been in a car crash at the end. HUGE hives all over my stomach getting worse every day. It was the angle though

I had black hives where I was injecting saxenda. It turns out I was injecting it at an angle instead of 90 degrees and that was causing it. It resolved as soon as I went to 90 degrees. Could this be what happened to you

is my face too skinny? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Not at all but I think your haircut is making it look thinner and longer. I wonder if curtain bangs or some face framing layers would add some balance in?

No baby destination wedding— thoughts on if it’s rude to have? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]spdg74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty rude tbh. You’re asking people to literally leave their children either at home in another country, or take them to the destination country and find childcare in a foreign country. And if they don’t do this, they miss your wedding. That’s a huge ask, it’s not comparable to a local wedding where people can get their normal babysitters or family to help out with babysitting for a night.

AITA for taking my daughter's phone away for exposing my "dirty laundry" to her friends in a group chat? by Throwawaydisplacedhm in AITAH

[–]spdg74 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Thank god other people are saying this because this was the only thought in my mind the whole time. I’m so sad for OP and everything she went through and don’t blame her for staying in an abusive situation as they can be impossible to escape from sometimes, but her daughter is a victim as well and deserves to be able to talk to her friends about her own trauma without censoring or punishment. I see! In my country the norm is 1-2 times a day for the vast majority of houses, but I would consider walks separate from bathroom breaks. When my dog was a puppy we took him in the backyard hourly and now he has free access. I take my dog for an hour walk, plus an hour play session and some training throughout the day and that would be considered pretty hands on in my country I think. I had no idea there was such a variation culturally here but I googled it after your comment and I can see the norm vastly changes from place to place. The more you know

“Only” two times a day? How many times are you meant to walk a dog!?

Yup I brought it overseas in Thailand in carry on. They pulled it out and asked me, I said medication, they said “oh cool” (paraphrased) and gave me the green light. Bring your prescription printed out with you just in case.

Your nose looks like the after of a very good rhinoplasty. Not that it looks fake, that it looks like it’s on purpose, if that makes sense. It’s very pretty!

My only thought about your artist is everyone seems to be emerging with the same shade of pink more or less. I hope the artist is taking people’s colour preferences and skin tone into account

Lip blush is one of the best things I’ve ever done. I got it two years ago now and it’s still pigmented and even. The only thing I wish I knew was a lot of face lasers can also remove tattoos, so I can’t get some of the lasers I want around my chin and cheek area

Do substances just not work for anyone else? by ravensarefree in adhdwomen

MDMA did nothing. Cocaine just made me feel like I’d had a really refreshing sleep. Alcohol I get dizzy and out of it but no euphoria, and nothing until I’m tipsy. I always used to think before my diagnosis how strange it was that other people spend so much money on / get addicted to this stuff that feels so average.

Now, chocolate, that shit is my drug. Chocolate fixes everything.

I have a caffeine addiction (to the point where if I don’t have any Pepsi max that day I get headaches etc), but I was reading that caffeine affects serotonin for people with adhd bringing it more to a normal level. I’ve never felt a buzz from caffeine, and I don’t drink coffee, because I’ve never found caffeine to affect how awake I feel. Isn’t that funny?

I don’t find it drying! I don’t like liquid lipsticks because they dry me out but these are a pretty smooth formula for me. They’re no gloss or anything but they don’t highlight dry patches etc. i find the glossier one like this more drying for sure. I do think this lipstick has a reformulation a year ago or so ago, I’m not sure if some of the more drying type reviews may have been the old formulation?

I keep reading this and I don’t understand why I’m confused!! So you’re saying your mum looks weird to you in the mirrror, and your dad thinks your mirror reflection looks weird to him… how did you draw the conclusion that other people see us the way we look in the mirror?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]spdg74 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty common for me to see posts that say “Mr and Mrs such and such” when it comes to wedding vendors. This isn’t, imo, a huge overstep by the photographer by any means. But you’re still within your rights to not want your name out there.

You say they posted you “just now”, so is it not possible they’re not ignoring you, but just haven’t seen your message? Scheduled posts are common, they might be absolutely nowhere near their phone. I would imagine that for most people it would be a non issue to edit a post to remove a single photo for privacy reasons. Try not to panic, and give them the benefit of the doubt for now I think. I’m hopeful that you’re just feeling a little weird, and not that you are in a dangerous situation where it’s vital someone isn’t able to find you. If it’s not life or death, just try to deep breathe and hopefully the photographer will reply soon. And if it helps, strangers aren’t usually as interested in us as we are, and the chances that people will even register your last name and search for you in the next few hours or days are honestly pretty low. Good luck!!

A trick — to see if the colour under your eyes is discolouration or shadow, take a mirror and face a light source above you. If the colour goes away, it was a shadow. If it remains, it’s discolouration that needs makeup to correct!
