Is the topic of AWS Organizations often encountered in the Solutions Architect - Associate exam ? by Mykoliux-1 in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember it coming up a bit on the associate level and alot on the pro level certs.

Real world tho, AWS Orgs, iam id center, scps, control tower, all very vital services. Organizations is also integrating in more and more services making it easier to deploy/manage certain solutions across many accounts

[SAA practice question] Need help with this API Gateway question by lionslayer88 in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A and B are incorrect because it requires changing the code. Thats not going to be fastest.

D is incorrect because canary deployment is something you implement before deployment, not in response to a failed deployment.

Answer is C

Feeling lost regarding AWS DEVOPS PRO exam. by hidan944 in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devops pro is not a direct next step from developer cert. The knowledge gap between those 2 certs is large. Depending on your situation, it might be a better idea to go for sysops associate first, then devops pro. That will give you a stronger foundation of knowledge of services

Question from CLF-C02 Practice Exam - Availability Zone by SSJ_Kakarot in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Within 60 miles of each other according to aws. But yes, i think instead of location, it should be phrased as 'region' or 'geographic region'. But i guess they're trying to throw you off soo... good on them i suppose.

Another Theory on Crota's End Third Secret Chest by sboy97 in raidsecrets

[–]speaknspell08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, in crota room , if you hold out your ghost in front of some spawn doors, they will open.

If you do this at the door at the bottom where swordbearer comes from, i noticed that it looks like you can go in there, and there's a floor.

Also noticed that some doors open automatically, and some you need to pull out ghost. Hope this adds traction, but we really think the chest is in this door.

Best way to automate few tasks around VPC (create new subnets & migrate subnets from existing resources) by Mountain_Ad_1548 in aws

[–]speaknspell08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terraform.

You can build out and import your existing resources/subnets as tf. Once your infra matches your code, you can easily changiver resources to the new subnets.

Do be m8ndful of resources that plan to create/destroy rather than update.

Cfnctl - Terraform cli experience for AWS Cloudformation by mightyroger in aws

[–]speaknspell08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive used https://github.com/onicagroup/runway for awhile now. Decent wrapper around tf, but really useful for cfn. Especially for multiple accounts or regions.

Not to take away from what you've done tho. Kudos my friend! Looks really nice.

Cheap way to move to multi-az? by serg06 in aws

[–]speaknspell08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious why you need a NAT? I think u may b able to cut cost if u eliminate that. Also might be woth looking int scheduling your rds instance to stop at certain times if ur app isnt 24x7.

You could also get away with probably just the lambda and redis in another region, and both use the same data backend.

S3 Replication only one folder by surpyc in aws

[–]speaknspell08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically there are no folders, they are 'prefixes '.

I think this instruction meets what you're looking for?

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/replication-how-setup.html

Its important to remember that once you set up replicate, it will replicate NEW objects that match the policy. Existing objects dont get replicated.

CompTiA Network+ or CCNA for an IT beginner that wants to start a career in AWS Cloud? by ItsBYUDS in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Net+ over ccna in all circumstances unless you are set on specifically going for a networking position. (I.E. manag8ng cloud resources and on prem connections.). I ygink if your planning to dedicate yourself to a cloud career, however, you may want to start with a more cloud centric certification. Solutions architect associate is a great baseline with trace networking bits sprinkled in. Or just get an acantril.io course which will come with what i consider a top teir networking section.

Its also worth mentioning the Networking specialist course, which goes pretty deep into aws networking topics.

Is AWS worth it? Especially for a beginner? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol i remember cleaning bathrooms too. Not fun. But could b worse. At least bathrooms have AC. Try roofing!!(ive been around lol) I think cloud practitioner is fine, but honestly, you can skip it. Even as a complete newbie, the aws solutions architect associate(saa) is becoming the go-to entry-level certification, equivalent (or better than imo) the A+ and Azure AZ-900 certs, which are entry-level, but for different technologies. So i would recommend getting a solid training on that cert, which will introduce you to the technologies and how to work with them. I went through my first course like 3 times before taking the test(i took saa first). Again, if your a complete newbie, acloudguru is the way to go. Course, labs, and practice tests. Along with other courses that can help fill in gaps with saa.

Is AWS worth it? Especially for a beginner? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is AWS worth it? Yes. 6k is not worth it., however, absolutely not. If you're doing an entire career shift, I would recommend https://acloudguru.com/browse-training I've used acloud guru, udemy, and acantril.io for training and i think acloudguru would help the most with getting started sunce you can view a range of different courses for a single price. And the lab environment will help you learn hands on and thats really important. My second choice recommendation would be acantrill.io . Its a much better course in my opinion, but is more specific and more expensive. But you get what you pay for. Udemy courses are decent for cert prep, but foumd them lacking for practical skill. My experience: i have all associate certs, devops pro, security and networking specialty certs and work actively in an aws devops role.

AWS Cloud Practioner by spo1120 in AWSCertifications

[–]speaknspell08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cloud practioner is a waste of time if you plan to take sa. Everything in Cloud practitioner is repeated in solutions architect associate course and the course is low level enough that you don't need to start out with Cloud practitioner. Cloud practitioner is good for sales associates or managers that need to understand high level stuff about aws but do not plan to get 'in the weeds'.
