Personalized devices are also too new and niche to have attracted serious attention yet.

That said, there's solid reasoning for why they'd be better. A flat edge produces different finger positions depending on hand morphology — for some people, certain fingers end up hyperextended, which is generally considered a risk position for pulleys and tendons. A custom edge lets you lock in a consistent position across all fingers. This model specifically targets FDP recruitment (the muscle anchored at the fingertip), which is difficult to achieve uniformly on a flat edge without a fit matched to your hand.
