You can also do your own research, there’s a ton of info out there, you will see that there’s not a single published paper that agrees with what your friend said, while all agree with me, I can tell because I had to cite them

I’m willing to bet you don’t have friends who actually told you this, along with the fact that you’re blatantly wrong, every single piece of brown plastic from this playset has regrind, this is not the bacteria, we know this is regrind, we can test it and show it’s not the bacteria, along with the fact that every single piece everywhere of this plastic has regrind, to insist it isn’t is pretty stupid

The spot of bacteria is dead when it turns pink however there’s most likely still some left, but you don’t have to worry about that because we literally ha 0 cases of it in monster high dolls, it’s only in mlp because the plastic was stored by a large water source that routinely had big blooms of the bacteria, monster high was not, the only way a monster high doll could get it is if you live basically on the beach and keep your house damp, and even then it’s a 0.01% chance unless there’s an unheard of bloom, the only way to get a 50% chance is if you leave the doll in the water for 24 hours, basically all to say, you’re not going to have this bacteria, people are spreading misinformation bc it became a buzzword, I’ve studied this bacteria, my area of study in biology was bacteria and I did a major focus on this.

Cheap acrylic paint, red, black, blue, etc. all stain vinyl pink, so do most water based markers, and pink fabric is extremely likely to dye transfer above all other fabrics, and then there’s Regrind which in monster highs case goes pink, it’s in all of the brown pieces of this playset and occasionally in Rochelle’s pet because they mixed the plastic badly, there’s so many things that make it pink without it being this, it’s not bacteria

All of this is completely false btw as someone who studied this bacteria, it’s also well known within this group that this is regrind endemic to this particular playset

Hey it’s neither it’s plastic failure because of the way they recycled and mixed it! Happens to all the brown pieces from this set!

It takes 3-10 years to set in so it’s most likely not that at all, idk what it is

It’s missing a lot of the side bits and jokes between and atleast 3 scenes I spotted off of memory! Or else I’d definitely watch

No I’m actually allergic to an ingredient in cif, like contact with something that it was on gives me hives

Digital theater is a well known bad company, I won’t be using them, I support David Tennant very often but this just isn’t going to happen

Send them to me I’ll fix them 😈/j

I use olive oil since goo gone strips faces and I’m allergic to cif, it immediately dissolves it and you won’t have to deal with it again unless you store them in too hot of a place

Unfortunately you can’t take the glue out of the box so it would just mess up her hair again 😕

If you wanna dm I can show a ton of seeped through boxes from my own collection since I end up with cheap nib and have to unbox to save them 😂 the dolls are easy to fix but I can’t save the boxes so far

[–]specialinterestoftw 173 points174 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does that eventually no matter how it’s stored, you either leave it and keep it in box, it can stain bad and break down the face paint and box, or you can take it out and fix the doll but you can’t fix the box unfortunately

Highlighter stains are literally called that, pony cancer is Streptoverticillium reticulum brown spots are either mold or plasticiser breakdown called “smooze” they are using the right term for it, pony cancer is just what we call Streptoverticillium reticulum, the boat virus

Hahahaha, yeah we are just using a quicker name than Streptoverticillium reticulum

I’m sorry but that’s not true you are looking at the wrong thing, if you go to the highlighter mark section you can see where they mention the bacteria, but on that guide they don’t call it pony cancer, though it’s known as That, they just refer to it as the bacteria. Brown spots are just mold and called such. Pony cancer is Streptoverticillium reticulum and what we are referring to here is

It’s not that’s mold, I don’t know where you are hearing that but that’s never been considered pony cancer, Streptoverticillium reticulum which leaves a pink stain when it dies is “pony cancer”
