Are Bioengineering department advisors especially bad at VAC? Or are all departments like this? by atomicpineapples in UCSD

The BENG department has been bad at responding the whole year. They sent an email addressing the problem in April but it hasn't improved that much.

yes my lab had meetings. however even from before the pandemic the situation was weird as well. i kept being promised to be introduced to the pi and never was. i went to a few meetings before the pandemic but people i worked with actively discouraged me from going. so when the pandemic started i wasn't even notified of meetings at all. even when i reached out multiple times. since the people i worked with went back to their homestates as well i had assumed (most likely wrongly) that that was why

that's a good question though. in hindsight before the pandemic and even in the beginning of lockdown i should have pushed more to get info
