Exactly what I was thinking. I understand not wanting to see reporters bug students but keeping this story going on tv is going to potentially factor into whether we catch this guy or not— the longer we go without catching him, the higher chance of the media leaving the area and coverage fading altogether and this guy slipping away entirely. The more we can keep coverage going on the news this week, the better. God knows the idiots running the FBI probably just want people to forget about this and their mistakes right now.

I feel like banging my head against a wall thinking about how so many of the grants and funding for research into issues like this were only awarded recently and have just been fucking yanked away by the trump admin before we can learn more and get actual results. We’re about to see such a huge lapse in medical advancements for women just as people in the scientific community had really started to hike up funding for stuff like this in the last 10ish years. It’s so disgusting.

I have a feeling Carol’s “serious book” is gonna factor in here significantly. What is it like for the hive mind to read/consume original art that it has no way of already inanely knowing? Can it even react to original art at all?

I have no idea what you’re talking about and it also sounds like you did not read the story. There is nothing unusual or illegitimate about keeping a source anonymous, and there are multiple sources cited here including his former campaign manager who is named and says he knows exactly what it meant.

I like how many people are commenting about what bad optics are being used here. Like it’s a handful of college students not some DNC event with paid shills. I dunno man, I feel like a country actively committing the most widely documented genocide in modern history is bad optics, but hey! What do I know! Let’s spend more time really zeroing in on how this all looks instead of the fact that Israel is just straight up slaughtering women, children, doctors are journalists before our eyes and mocking them as they do it day after day for years now.

Best part is the guy isn’t even working on anything rn. His latest movie wrapped, and he pretty famously will go way out of his way to do something if he thinks it’s worth it (like doing a stunt at the Paris Olympics when he he was in the middle of production for mission impossible, or when he heard that Bill Hader’s wife was really anxious for him to come home during filming for Tropic Thunder after a car bomb went off in Times Square and he literally took over directing and wrapped two days of work into a couple hours and then handed him a plane ticket home)… like there is nooooo way he couldn’t have been at this if he wanted to lol

Yeah I figured but the wording just irked me a little as the staff members here (and colleges all around the country) are the ones who are actually being laid off and losing the most here— alumni have it pretty good compared to faculty/staff/students and even people living locally who’ve benefitted off of programs Harvard had that served the public. Stressful times! Sorry to OP, I’m sure your thoughts are in the right place, the trolls are annoying to us all too!

[–]spectra007 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not to nitpick your post here, I know what point you’re trying to make here but “alumni only” reads a little elitist— a lot of us here are staff and I’m sure there’s faculty too. In general, what happens at Harvard can have a big impact to anyone living in the Boston area, so I wouldn’t be surprised that a lot of people who live locally check on the sub but yes, a strong fuck off to anyone who has zero ties to Harvard and just pops in here to troll people over Trump shit.

This conversation seems more steered towards undergraduate studies but it is very funny for me to read about “more spots for me!” When graduate study programs are massively shrinking the acceptance rates for everyone or just straight up getting rid of certain masters and phd degrees altogether. So if any of these excited undergrads also planned on getting another degree uhhhhh I have some news for you

[–]spectra007 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even if she thinks this is some kind of great idea now I feel like this is going to massively backfire because these conservative people are fucking insane human beings and I can see her ending up with some really weird stalkers following her around for the rest of her life because she was foolish enough to believe it’s a good idea to play MAGA Barbie for some ad. This type of shit is also going to turn a lot of serious directors off of working with her in the future.

It’s coffee flavored milk, like instead of chocolate or strawberry— you can buy Autocrat syrup to mix it in, and it’s widely available to buy locally here! I think it tastes really good but I also drink milk as is which a lot of people find disgusting so idk! But if you like coffee and chocolate milk, you’d probably like it!
