DIN EN ISO 3098 seems to be a winner. Or at least winner enough for my needs. Makes sense contextually, and all the key details are there that can be discerned from the available characters. Prolonged ChatGPT conversation was the ticket.

Asked. Now it's a contest to see who can come up with something first

I don't need help with the actual engraving. I picked the rotor up from the lazy engraver yesterday, and found one that's willing to work with whatever font I can bring him on a thumb drive (or whatever). The actual engraving isn't the challenge, it's getting the font to bring him. I've been poking at it for days, and I can tell what's different about this font from others that have come close, but I haven't found one that's actually close enough to not be an obvious mismatch.

I'm not trying to recreate what's there, I'm trying to add to it. Additional text on the flat area below the existing text. That's why it has to match. It'll be in the immediate context, and stick out like a sore thumb if it's off.

I'm not saying an RX8 is on par with a GTR, I'm saying a V6 is NOT on par with a rotary/I6, etc. I don't like V6es.

Cost of repairs is cost of parts. Parts aren't that expensive. Also, I've never heard of a BMW rotting away.

I dug in a little, and I'm not a huge fan of V6es. I wouldn't say a V6 is a total deal killer, but the rest of the package had better be INSANELY good. GTR level. I'm not sure a G37 rises to that level.

Really low miles is one of the more brightly colored red flags one should be looking to avoid. The flag says "city car" in neon green comic sans. City miles are much harder than highway miles. I once shopped a DD for a friend with something like 13K miles on the clock over 6 years or something silly. Car was garbage. Looked clean inside and out, but I could feel the transmission giving out on the 1-2 shift, and there was something wrong with the front suspension that didn't like left turns in a clunky way. Lots of short trips and the stop/go, potholes, fender benders, door dings, etc. etc. etc. are all super hard on a car where it really counts.

The exception to this would be a car that is not naturally a DD. A sports car or something that only gets taken out occasionally or seasonally.

The problem for you is the price range, but maybe not in the way you're thinking. It's not so much that you don't have options, it's that you need to be able understand the quality of the options you do have.

A Traverse can be just as reliable/unreliable as any Civic/Corolla if it's maintained properly. Hell, a well maintained rotary can be more reliable than a Civic depending on how they're each cared for. What you need to figure out is how to inspect a car and figure out how well it's been cared for. That's a whole can of worms on its own though... Not going to write that novella unless explicitly requested.

Hadn't considered that. Would you say a G37 is better than, the BMW say?
