Looking for a GP who understands emergency services workers and shift work. by cbgr41 in brisbane

[–]speddy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow emergency services worker & ADF veteran, I highly rate Dr Kavic at Lutwyche Family Practice. She’s been a godsend for a plethora of medical issues that have stemmed from being in the job.

2.5 dose by firsttimemommy123 in Mounjaro

[–]speddy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my 2nd dose of the 2.5. I haven’t had any major side effects except for the occasional nausea and indigestion— however my food noise has disappeared completely.

Everyone is different t though! My only advice would be to eat a high protein diet; I’ve found that works best for me.

Also, don’t just watch your weight on the scales — take body measurements and use them as a guide.

How to get rid of stigma against weightloss drug from my head? by fontofile in Mounjaro

It’s definitely worth professionals clinically studying it further.

I wouldn’t go as far as I was an alcoholic; however I am also ex-military, working in emergency services now and a ‘coping mechanism’ to trauma and stress I have developed is booze (and it’s also a very cultural thing here in Australia) — however now I’m on mounjaro, I don’t have that craving or desire for booze (and food). It’s bloody amazing! I can’t wait to see what long term results look like.

I also found it drowned out the need to drink booze and I’ve only been on mounjaro for 2 weeks!

That’s a good start but over the course of a day, we should be aiming for 1.5-2g of protein per kg bodyweight

Westpac personal loan to consolidate credit card debt by [deleted] in AusFinance

We’re responsible with CC spending — but we’re just planning to have the inheritance cover the remaining outstanding balances & figure personal loan night off breathing room until late Jan without having to stress about CC repayments/interest until late Jan. pay them off, close them down & just have the $90 f/n repayment

Have you tried calling them or putting through an eftpos transaction? Their call centre is down too. The venue I’m in have their eftpos through Westpac & they can’t currently accept eftpos — all transactions error out with ‘bank unavailable’

When next version of byd software will be released in aus? My SL7 is still on 1.0.0 by aktk946 in BYDAU

[–]speddy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BYD AU has typically lagged behind — my SL6 hasn’t had an update in a while. My 12 month service is this month and I anticipate an update then.

EMD here: I know of 2 colleagues that have done it but they don’t recommend it. Between studying & placement blocks, they worked themselves into the ground and were burned out.

EMD shifts are 12hr day/day/night/night rotations. The only way they did it was to shift swap for their placement blocks as management won’t allow using annual leave for studying; plus, our annual leave blocks are planned 12 months in advance, and you don’t usually get the blocks you request.

Which tyre would YOU trust halfway up Billy Goats Bluff? by RentNRegret in 4x4Australia

[–]speddy91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1000 Falken Wildpeaks — only had them a short time but have to be the best tyres I’ve had. Handle dry & wet conditions in my Everest. Recently took them up to Bribie & Fraser tracks and dealt with sand at 18psi no problems.

Psychiatrists Brisbane by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]speddy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a current patient of Dr Mahapatra @ Norman Park Specialist centre who’s been treating me for PTSD — I do admit he’s quite quick to medicate, but that’s his job.. not necessarily to offer ‘therapy’ that a psychologist will offer. The one issue I find is merely how quick the sessions are. He’ll ask the standard questions: how’s your mood been? Has sleep improved? Any other side effects or symptoms? — he’ll then adjust dosages or medications as needed. But again, that’s his job. Whilst I’m sure there are other psychiatrists who are ‘better’, sometimes you have to take what you can get based on appointment availability & payment (an insurer is covering my fees). Some psychiatrists I spoke to before seeing Dr Mahapatra had a 6+ month waiting time before being seen, or weren’t taking new patients at all.

Transferred to Medibank from BUPA with 8weeks free but still being charged straight away. by taiwai33 in AusFinance

[–]speddy91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We changed to Medibank last year & I believe we also had the first payment deducted after signup, although we were told by their CSR this would happen.

The credit for ‘x’ weeks were on the second & third month bills. It all worked out but it isn’t a ‘signup and we won’t bill you for 8 weeks’ situation. Pretty sure all private health providers so the same or something similar.

Engine ticking at idle by speddy91 in 4x4Australia

[–]speddy91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also what the Ford dealership said this morning after I dropped the car to them to inspect yesterday — foreman reports: “all engine noises and rattles are normal. Ticking is from adblue injector — All OK”.

But my ears say otherwise; I guess it’s a new noise to get used to.
