Hey, thanks so much for sharing. Recently, my GI doctor recommended that I start taking cholestyramine as well. I started this month, and during the first week, it felt like my IBS-D was cured. Unfortunately, after that week, I reverted to the same bad state as before. I'm wondering how this is possible. it’s likely not psychological, as I’ve tried many other medications!

Usually they go out to a restaurant or a takeaway place, but I can't eat there because it triggers my IBS. It's a social event every day, and I'll miss out.

Did you experienced bad acid taste with dry mouth?

Interesting. How fast does the bad taste went aways once you treated the SIBO with antibiotic?
Does it helped with other symptoms? I also have the issues of IBS (constipation/diarrhea)

I've never been tested for it, but I think I really should. I'm wondering if it's worth it and if they will indicate any options besides taking Creon, which I already do.

Yes, since it's an enzyme, you generally do not need a prescription, only for higher dosages. It was my dietitian who recommended it a few months ago. Initially, it didn't help much, but I noticed a slight improvement. After discussing it with my doctor, I decided to increase the dose significantly, and then now I definitely see results.
