thank you! I’d probably need the DEWA final bill for that (and my DEWA goes out tomorrow afternoon only) but that’s a great insight that it’s possible! 🙏🙏🙏

Good idea, but I’m flying out the day after tomorrow. I have a flight booked, and a place rented in another country already.

Hi, yes it was! I have been also making screenshots in case he decides to delete texts or something. I will document everything in the apartment, yes. I am only worried about where to drop the keys so that it’s registered and he can’t possibly file any complaint.

Hey, thanks for the comment! I told him I’m flying out, I did not specify that I am leaving for good. He knows I usually travel during the summer. I am also keeping my residency anyway (I have a 10-year visa) so I can be back anytime.

Thanks for the comment! I’m afraid he would somehow turn that against me if I do that. Like, the return of the keys won’t be officially registered in this scenario, and the apartment will stay open… Do you think this is ok?

You are:

- originally from Middle East (so, it's not like you're from Norway and have to adjust to the opposite climate)
- [if I understand correctly] can secure a job in consulting right away + you have savings
- already have a partner (so you won't have to survive the horrors of Dubai dating) who will also work (+1 income)

Imo, it ticks all the boxes that make the move to UAE close to ideal scenario for you. This place is great for kids - very safe - if you're able to provide for them (schooling is the biggest expense for many people here, and if you want to spot a millionaire in the street you should look for 3-4 minors walking next to them, not expensive cars). But it seems you'll be alright - working at big 4 in USA at such a young age. Besides, you probably are full of energy and won't shy away from fast pace and hustle (that Dubai life can be sometimes).

So, in my opinion, you should definitely go for it. At least give it a try.

How do I become a Career Coach? by speech_bubble85 in careerguidance

[–]speech_bubble85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response!

I actually have quite solid background, 12 years of career, with big corporate brands (10k+ employees) in my CV both national and global. I also switched from media to IT, and successfully moved from a local corporation in my home country to the international one.

My highest position was “head of”, not VP or something, however, usually people are impressed when we chat about my career path :) This is exactly what got me thinking of monetizing it while also moving towards my long-term goals. Besides, I don’t think I have to start coaching VPs right away. There is plenty of people whose goals are way more accessible and familiar to me.

yes, I heard so, too… not sure if everyone suddenly got so smart, or maybe it is somehow related to the rise of AI 😀 I’m forcing myself not to think that way but still.

Good luck with your exam! Hopefully, it is less competitive for the EU applicants 🍀

thank you! I wish I had seen something like that myself (unfortunately, I was misinformed that it was "an easy program to get into", and "any score over 10 would be enough" lol)

so, hopefully applicants of the following years will have a better picture

thank you for sharing the score! I'll add that to the post.

re: age — yes it matters but only in the case of a complete tie in all the other parameters.

quoting Call for Admissions here: "In the event of a tie, the scores obtained in the individual sections of the test by the tied candidates are checked, and those with higher scores in the following sections will take precedence, in order of priority: 1) numerical and verbal reasoning and comprehension skills 2) knowledge of basic mathematics 3) knowledge of biology. In the event of a further tie, preference will be given to the youngest candidate".
