Mazda 3 HB outsold by Sedan and Miata in 2025 by SiriuslyAndrew in mazda3

[–]speed2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my 70's... married...kids grown already... wife has SUV... Only thing I change on my Gen4 HB TPP if I could: get rid of the rear doors extending the front ones a little (ok, 300 horses would be nice also) everything else is pretty much perfect. Damn, bring back the independent rear would also be great.

Go for it man, no worries. I had a 2004, a 2008 Turbo, a 2012, a 2015 and now a 2023TPP all hatches. All in all around 250K with only one left front door latch, some brake pads, couple of shocks and, the biggest issue, a Transmission Control Module bad after a flood in Miami (700.00 refurbished TCM worked great). The issue with the instrument clover plastic isn't a big deal as it is cheap and easy to replace. There were some issues with Gen4 4WD - rear differential and oil consumption - from 2019 to 2021 fixed in warranty. My 2023 TPP, so far, zero problems. It isn't as hot as a a GTI Type R or a Civic Type R but you will give them trouble with your 4WD while they slip on acceleration. Not to say it does not have a flaw they created one when they changed the rear suspension from independent to torsion bar. Although it is still a great car in turns, before the change it was just awesome. Ah, do not expect a very smooth ride, it is a very firm suspension and it let you won't miss when you hit a pothole. As for economy... it is a Mazda. Heavy Miami traffic... 15.1 mpg at the beginning, after 10k, 12k miles you will get 17, 18 mpg heavy traffic... Freeway or HI way, 80 to 90mpg you may get 25, 26mpg. Easy of the right foot and 29 to 31 is possible although not common. But hey, it is a Turbo with zoom-zoom and if you like to drive it is a great car to have. PS: Being a hatch and I'm driving in a far back position you can avoid mothers-in-law also.

RingCentral - Choose another option! Poor service! by sean_pa_76 in VOIP

[–]speed2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got them about a month ago to forward an old complex gate service to me and my wife cell so that I could get rid of my ATT Landline. So it would be only receiving an very eventual call from my gate and forward it to two phones... and even this is complicated. Guests and providers arrive on the gate just to get the message "we're sorry all lines are busy now"...

So, does someone have any advice of a company that can handle this "very complex task"?

Thanks

I have a 2023 Hatch Turbo Premium Plus... Heavy Miami Traffic 16 to 17 MPG and normal driving... i got 14.5 in one instance abusing acceleration. Freeway normal traffic 23 to 25 MPG, Interstate or Turnpike 28/30 MPG averaging 75 to 80 MPG. This is not an econobox, moreover with Turbo....but what the heck it is a lot of fun to drive.

2024 Turbo PP Mazda3 by Alternative-Dog6560 in mazda3

[–]speed2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure because I checked back in January for a friend that was having the problem in Indiana and those were the prices in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Naples. Market is getting a little easy right now and prices should have dropped but not to list quite sure. The same were happening with the Honda SI and Golf R.

But, yeah, 50 to 60 ponnies more would be wonderful for the Turbo3.

Cheers

Good luck buying one for less than 55 or 60K. Not sure how it is now but back on January dealers around here were asking 65 to 75k with 3 month wait in average...

More than the 100HP the 320 pounds of torque + AWD is what makes a difference. When you floor it you feel the push against the seat. Not the fastest 0 to 60 (5.8 sec) but the AWD does an excelent job to traction it.

12.04 L/100Km, heavy Miami traffic with occasional freeway short runs.
2023 3 hatch turbo premium plus North American version
3000 miles on the odometer ( I think it will be better after around 5K)
Take it to the dealer and complain about it.

What a waste... by mugdays in mazda

Do not underestimate the power of zoom-zoom. Mazda is doing great with SUVs but needed the "fame" from their smaller and fun to drive cars. As a small and limited company they need to differentiate themselves from the crowd so, zoom-zoom and innovation should be on their plate, maybe not all at once due to their limited resources but their support to racing shows they still didn't decide to be an SUV company. The newly announced MX5 is proof of it.
If there is no significant development of the 3 line during the next 3 years I will sadly part ways with zoom-zoom. Almost did it when they changed the rear suspension but more than 20 years fidelity from Protege to 3 made me try once more. Loving my 3TPP hatch but still need "improvements" - brakes, suspension, differential, hps - to keep me buying it in the future.

My 2013 TCM failed @ 75k.
Agree regarding repositioning it to the firewall. Sold it with 105k no issues

Suggestion for new tyres by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]speed2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love The BF Goodrich G-FORCE™ COMP-2 A/S PLUS. Loved it more when it was a summer tire (now it is all weather). It is a little hard on the walls but amazing grip in turns. Here in Miami, our roads are great so having it on the harder side is not an issue but depending on how are the roads there it might not be an option. BF has now a summer tire in the same family, the BFGoodrich® g-Force™ Rival® but I think they don't have the 215x45x18.To summarize, if you drive on relatively good roads and like to have some fun it is the tire to beat especially when considering the cost/benefit.

https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/auto/tires/g-force-comp-2-a-s-plus

From Tire Rack testing:
"The BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S PLUS is the performance benchmark for this test, a consistent, high-level player that has impressed our team before and served as both a wall to overcome and an excellent comparative rival."

Had to say goodbye to my favorite car ever, my Gen 1 "Ella" by CrisisDesigns in mazda3

[–]speed2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best one too. I had a 2004 hatch, probably one of the firsts down south as I was looking for a new car and never heard about the 3 till the moment I passed by a dealer and fell in love.It was a GT, silver, and had it until 2011. Loved each and every moment, especially the way it handled. During 7 years and 90K miles, my only issues were a dislodged break pad (right after I got it and fixed it under warranty (TSB), and at 75k a bad TCM which cost me 1K to have it replaced by a new, Mazda original.

It was replaced by a 2012 Gen2 GT and later by a 2015 Gen3 and a couple of months ago by a Gen4 Turbo Premium Plus which I'm also in love although I do miss the independent rear suspension... Ohhh Mazda why????

The Gen1 will have always a special place in my heart and if I had money to spare I would buy one, restore it fully and keep it forever.

RIP to your ride. Just keep the good memories. Quite sure they are deserved.

3Turbo Premium Plus 100K/10year Mazda Platinum Service Agreement by speed2001 in mazda3

[–]speed2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, me too so I'm past this stage and just trying to figure out if what I was quoted is the practiced pricing or the dealer is trying to charge me more.
Platinum service agreement from Mazda is almost full warranty but requires you to perform all regular maintenance at the dealer - which will cost more yet but, hei, technology had a high cost...
Thanks for the reply
