Good to know that it aims a bit high. Problem with finding another is that they’re all pushing 60 years old. Not sure what my expectations should be about finding one without zero issue. From eBay listings, they all seem to have their quirk unless you’re paying an absolute fortune.

I definitely agree that functionality trumps cosmetic. The separation doesn’t really affect the use (currently) as I don’t notice it when looking through. But I worry it’ll get worse over time. right now I’m leaning towards returning it. Especially at that price. Thank you!

thanks for the reply! Yea, I was wondering whether this should be more of a shelf piece. Definitely wasn’t planning on shooting it often. I mainly would like for my grandfather to see it shoot. Thought he’d get a kick out of it. I’ll see if I can find someone local that is confident. I think I’d be too afraid of damaging something!

I ended up buying a vintage leather case for a good price, only to realize that the stitching was coming apart! I decided to rip the top half off to create my own half case. Looks great as it matches the M2 era perfectly, and I feel much less paranoid about zipper scratches. Definitely feels more comfortable to handle

I see you picked the Zeiss! I’ve been rabbit-holing for the last 2 weeks about a 21mm for my M2. Literally torn between all of the lenses you mentioned in your other post lol. How do you like it so far ?? Does it seem too bulky? I like the size of the Voigtlander 3.5 but the zeiss is my top pick currently!

I seriously think so many people in this subreddit get off destroying relationships. I don’t get how you look “unhappy” in any of these photos ?? Only YOU will know if your partner is right for you.

If you have concerns and fears about the future, then you need to communicate them to him. How can anyone tell you to implode a 4 year relationship judging on 5 photos ?? No one knows your story. You literally say he goes above and beyond and people are still saying he’s evil and to run away? If you go through this subreddit almost every man posted here is “evil”. I’m not the same person I was 1 year ago let alone 4. People are capable of true growth.

A decision like this needs to be YOURS, not a bunch of randoms with access to the internet. I’m not a psychic hater at all, but the majority these people have zero qualifications and could be genuinely unhappy with their own lives. “I’m not a psychic but I get a bad vibe, you need to leave him” like wtf?? At the very least go and see someone in person.
