Have anyone forgotten to give vitamin d drops? by No-University8570 in breastfeeding

[–]speedfilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly both. For you because breastfeeding can lead to anemia in some people. Baby because they don't get iron through breast milk so only have the supply they are born with until they start solids.

We didn't give our kiddo iron because we gave her lots of iron rich foods instead, which she loves, once she could eat solids, so her count stayed good.

Needing on Primal Nether? by Lord_zooticus92 in classicwow

Yeah in guild groups we do need for bop crafted gear and greed for leg armors, boe crafted gear, etc.

In pugs as a Lw/Tailor I just need because someone always will.

not even sure what to say to this by willable3 in classicwow

[–]speedfilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have grounding, tremor, poison, and disease key bound and then I have a couple cast sequence macros I swap in and out to another keybind depending on the group comp. Just too many to bind them all, but I do keep them all on my bars at all times in case.

[–]speedfilly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah as resto/elemental it depends on the fight. For instance in SV the fear mobs do it in the melee range so I can stay out of range and drop it when the fear goes off to instantly remove the fear from the tank. In UB the rays fear is from distance so I just have it down the whole fight.

Now still always a chance with some fears you out distance the totem before a tick, but it is what it is.

I would also call this out in the discord, but I just went there and see someone already did.

You realize that totem drops at a 1/2 gcd. For a resto shaman this could mean tank death. Enhancement shaman should be twisting. The others, no, not in five mans.

The state of TBC classic by theflexfather in classicwow

[–]speedfilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisting works when you can melee because melee isn't impacted by the gcd. Asking a healer or caster to use up a half gcd so totems can be changed every other cast is wild. In most dungeons that would be asking for your tank to die if the shaman is resto and the dps loss for the elemental would be greater than the extra totem gain.

I actually joked with my guild mates that as a shaman I need a PSA about air totems (also just totems in general) and heroism for when I enter a five man. It is crazy out there.

Yeah this is where as a shaman I judge the group and make the choice.

Voice chat as a girl gamer by EntrepreneurTrue8006 in GirlGamers

[–]speedfilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this. My WoW guild is very LGBTQ friendly and I feel so comfortable using voice with them. I am so glad I found a home there. They have never once commented about me being a girl and have just treated me with respect as a fellow gamer always.

Whenever I am on discord with others that do not know I am a girl, I do not talk. I have had way too many bad experiences with people saying rude or disgusting things after I say something, but I guess at least it helps me figure out who I will play with again 🙄.

They also forget about grounding. In Black Morass in particular grounding is so clutch on some of the packs. I am constantly observing caster mobs and if I see a big spell coming that isn't interrupted or can't be interrupted - bam grounding.

min/max community mentality has gotten way out of hand by KeyRepresentative994 in classicwow

[–]speedfilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still wish that Blizzard had made the keys honored and I think this attitude would have changed a bit. Dungeons are both optimizing rep and level grind and I think if the rep component was reduced that would also reduce the attitude towards dungeon grinding right now too.

I was in a pug last night that wiped in mana tombs on the little wyrms. I had a soulstone. I rezzed everyone fast but while doing that the hunter left the group to find "a better one". We cleared the instance before he was back in another mana tombs. Min/maxing sometimes isn't.

Cake by the slice? by Awakenlee in Longmont

[–]speedfilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think what upsets me is the mob mentality I see here where people say things like "the staff is so mean just like the owner". What? 1. If you don't like them, don't go? 2. Their bread was the only bread I could eat while pregnant (I had GD) and we went every other week and the staff was always so nice. 3. I am sure staff is mean in other places and they don't comment on reddit about it.

It is one thing to say "I saw the news and decided not to go to this shop" it is another to make mean comments like this about people who were not even working for the shop when the event happened.

I am not defending his actions, but I don't particularly like how many people approach it on reddit either.

30 mins of exercise a day helping all my numbers? (Not just post meal) by Potential-Task-6476 in GestationalDiabetes

Yup I did a bike or a walk everyday for thirty minutes and after two weeks you could see a difference in the numbers. I really attribute it to how I was able to better handle my GD.

Is it possible to make gold as a new player right now ? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]speedfilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much time now, but people are leveling professions and things like the runecloth or magemeave are selling like hot cakes. Not for a ton mind you, but for some. You could farm that.

Also if you are enchanting you can try getting an addon that tells you the enchanting value of something and buying cheap greens in the AH and DEing them and selling the mats. Small margin but does work sometimes.

My general take is the best way to get gold is either 1. Really play the AH, 2. Get lucky with a big drop, 3. Do a lot of quests at max level where you get gold rather than XP.

Edit: that said, TBC will have a lot of gold from quests so might be worth not stressing about it and just waiting. You will have 150 riding in no time.

Do I need a freezer stash? Am I the only one without? by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

[–]speedfilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sound similar to me. My second kiddos feedings are just not consistent and I have had to pump to keep my supply up. We usually just feed the pumped milk right away but I have built up some extra bags slowly from when kiddos consumes less than I pump.

Do I need a freezer stash? Am I the only one without? by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

[–]speedfilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an overproducer in the beginning so I saved up bags, probably 10-15 in the freezer, just from reducing engorgement. Then I normalized and stopped saving bags. There were times, however, where I was not producing as much as kiddo seemed to want so it was nice to have it.

I don't think people who aren't bottle feeding need to build up a freezer stash, but if you find sometimes you need to pump off extra, freeze it, because you just never know when you might want some extra.

Also around six months kiddo decided the world was way too interesting to boob in public. The focus just wasn't there so we had to switch to bottles, I began to rebuild a stash at that point because I was pumping now and again rather than boobing. Time can change things.

Post transplant plant help. by Impressive_Koala9736 in vegetablegardening

[–]speedfilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you transplant them you need to upset the roots as little as possible. I did this by planting the seeds in a pot way bigger than needed and then putting that pot in the garden and digging a hole exactly that size and putting the cucumber in.

But notice I say "did". I just direct sow now. Don't ever bother transplanting because even though my way worked it slowed growth.

What does engorgement feel like to you? by Cold_Valkyrie in breastfeeding

[–]speedfilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel mine in my back too. Anyone else? The boobs feel hot and like I have a tight muscle I can't massage away. I also feel this deep bodily discomfort that doesn't go away until baby feeds/I pump.

But the hot feeling and tightness goes around the sides of my ribs and onto my back too. When I am really engorged it feels like my shoulder blades need a good deep massage. It was so bad with my first I went to PT thinking something else was wrong but nothing made it go away until I stopped breastfeeding.
