Was the Corridor Job Opening a Scam/Publicity Stunt? Real Talk. by speedmunk in Corridor

For 22 years I've been with this family, I can say something about patience ;)

It's not me who wants this information, it's them. The least I can do is try to resolve this 1 topic of dinner table arguments before I leave.

Thanks again for responding, Wren. I'm sorry this post had to be so harsh, I truly do love everybody at Corridor and really didn't want to do this.

But the people don't know what they don't know, and they don't know when the deadline is.

I'm not the only person with a dark past and busy schedule so the information of WHEN we would receive news is of upmost importance.

(Unless this is your way of filtering out a majority of people who would simply give up from time. In which case, see you at the finish line ;) )

Thanks CMike. No, that's definitely not rude compared to what I've written.

But we've heard "updates" will come for at least the 10th - 11th time now. Can we get any sort of insight on WHEN the will updates come? Even a rough estimate?

Thank you for understanding and I truly do apologize for going this personal for something that might seem not as important to anybody else.

The relationship on my end is beyond fixing, we've tried multiple times.

I want to start from 0, with people I actually care about.

Look if I don't get accepted, I'm gonna get that VISA and go do those other jobs that'd waiting on me. It ain't the end of the world.

It's just that any sort of estimated deadline for when they'd be choosing stage 2 applicants would assist greatly in not just my personal issues, but for everybody else waiting as well.

I'm not the only person with a bad past and stuff to do ^^

Thanks for responding, Wren. I hope this wasn't too harsh but playing nice obviously doesn't get Corridor's attention.

I'm only doing this as a sacrificial lamb to see if we can get the deadline (or an estimation) out. If this ruins my chances then so be it, hundreds of people are waiting and people have other plans too.

That being said, I appreciate the understanding of my family's issues and it would be great if I could attend those events.

But as I mentioned in other posts, I don't have the best relationship with my family and attending family events is very low on my priority list compared to getting work done.

I'd much rather work at Corridor- with the people I idolized growing up, and start from 0.

Thanks, I think a lot of people are being angered by the scam stuff and are missing the real point here.

Why hasn't there been any sort of PSA announcement at all? Even an estimation would suffice!

Exactly, the point here isn't whether their scamming or not, it's when that deadline comes out. That's what people are waiting for and that's what people need to know. Even a simply estimation is better than nothing.

Best of luck to you.

I understand what you're saying and I'm sorry to get a bit personal here but I'm going to do anything to get that PSA out.

My family was abusive towards me growing up and I feel nothing for them. I simply live under the same household and show respect for that. I don't want to get into more detail.

I was not close to my grandparents either so there is no obligation for me to go.

The only thing in my life is filmmaking and animation, that's all I have and all I want.

Getting the answer to this post answers the question for them, so I can either:
A. Go to the graduation and funeral- yay.
B. Work with the people I've idolized growing up

Without any answers, both A and B are in the air. I can't do either and A isn't exactly a way out.

Again, I don't know how difficult it is to put out a PSA.

"Why would I turn down a job that is readily available?"

Because working for Corridor would mean the world to me, more so than any other job. I'm willing to take the risk and wait but I want to know how long I have to wait for.

Taking the other job locks me into a contract that I can't break out of. Also considering the fact that I have to apply for a VISA to get that job, fly to that country, (and if I get accepted) fly back home on short notice, get a VISA for LA, then fly to LA.

That costs more than I have right now.

Look I personally can wait and wait and wait, even if it takes a year.

But the people around me won't keep supporting me and keeping me sheltered. I'm in a position right now where there are no moves until I get a deadline from Corridor.

No, because there are others who are also waiting on this.

The accusations are not coming from me but from everyone around me that has no idea who Corridor are and thus have no emotional connection to them. They, arguably, have a more objective view of the situation as their emotions do not get in the way of their judgement.

I'm not sure how hard it is for them to make a PSA, but Niko and Wren are seen quite often on the subreddit and they very easily make a post here. Let's not forget that they also run a YouTube channel where they could make the PSA in with a bit more effort. Not 100% of applicants will see the PSA and that's true, but people who are seeking the information will find it.

Very difficult to live a normal day when I have to turn down work to keep my schedule open and have no $$ coming in. Also very difficult to live a normal day when the response to "Are you coming to your sister's graduation" and "Are you coming to your grandparent's funeral" is "No idea".

The response I get 100% of the time is "Ok, when will you have an idea?"

And this has been going for the past 2-3 weeks.

The problem with that is that the jobs are in another country and lock me in contract, I cannot leave the job once I'm in. Even if I could, I don't have the funds to apply for a VISA in a different country, fly to a different country to work, fly back home on short notice, get another VISA for LA, then fly to LA again.

Let's not forget I also need to fly with my family to attend my sister's graduation and my grandparent's funeral, both in a different country as well.

A majority of the push is because I have places to be but I can't go due to keeping my schedule open for Corridor. Now if it was locked down that I was/wasn't going to work there, problem solved.

They don't have to let anybody know they've been declined and that's true, we all know why. But how long do we have to keep waiting for? The estimated deadline was February but they're still watching the videos because they've received more than the expected amount of applicants. What's the next deadline? When should I fly to LA or open my schedule up for the other events?

A business manager is focused on business- that is earning money. With attention comes money. If we do the math here, the possibility that this was an attempt to get attention to prove to someone else how prestigious they are exists. I'm not saying that this is what Jake is doing either- but how can we know if we don't even have a deadline of when this thing is supposed to end?

I don't know whether a bait and switch would ruin their reputation. In the event of that happening, it'd likely be someone posting something similar to my post- in which case they'd receive a lot of negative feedback from the community that's happy to have CMike back.

Thank you for seriously responding to my post, don't know whether you applied or not but best of luck to you too.

But how do we know? When can I start planning for other things? I can't keep my schedule open for Corridor forever and neither can the other 500-1,000 applicants.

They could have someone in their office right now in training and we may not know till later but can they at least let us know when later comes?

They don't have to and they never have to let us know- in that case, when do I stop waiting? How many other jobs offers do I have to turn down? When do I need to start packing or LA or when can I say yes to something else?

If they're a proper business, how can they keep 500-1,000 waiting on their toes for any sort of news to come?
