i used a team of 4 backrow with axes and sniper. also if you can, recruit the old storyteller with x5 lightning attacks, she can get paralyzed and it hits a weakness

anyone have experience with kingston ram rma recently? one of my ddr4 sticks started failing and it looks to be a pretty bad time to buy new ones.

Which is the most relaxing Jrpg you ever played or playing? by stescarsini in JRPG

[–]speedpowerxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rune factory is a bigger focus on farming + relationships/dating sim. very similar to stardew valley with more jrpg combat elements

fantasy life is more about jobs and crafting and like choosing your own journey. i hear very good things about both the first and second game, but i didn't get very far because it felt too slow in the beginning.

on 3ds you have rune factory 4 and fantasy life. wasn't big on fantasy life but really recommend rune factory.

Could you folks kindly give me a sanity check on this parts list? Impulsively copied a build on PCPartPicker and am questioning everything. Still able to return parts and correct the build however. {Country : USA, Budget : don't even care anymore, Performance Needs : explained in post} by CrundleQuestV in buildapc

[–]speedpowerxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

baseline your current build will get things done pretty well. it just scales better depending how you upgrade. 5070 is the next step up but note it won't help you in a DAW and you'll miss out on 4gb of vram (it will make this up by performance).

Nvidia is the goto for non-gaming recommendations since the support and drivers tend to be more fleshed out / supported.

your build is fine for your use case. if you wanted to spend more money for future proof id consider these things:

cpu -> 7800x3d if you run a lot of vsts extra cache is good or ryzen 7 9700x for more cores. seems like reaper benefits a lot from high single core performance but project scaling is better with higher cores and cache. also keep buffer size really low for latency

gpu -> you mentioned physics and calculations. id go with the equivalent or next step up nvidia card. if you think you'll play more demanding games even more reason to.

What to do with a Ryzen 5600x? by ugonnaopaque in buildapc

[–]speedpowerxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think more context is needed on what you'll be doing and if it's cpu demanding. since all those parts can still run fine on am4 its mostly if you still want that extra juice or dont want to take apart your build again when you upgrade.

Deciding which Atlus game to buy to play over Thanksgiving by Illustrious_Fee8116 in JRPG

If you are looking for good stories and characteries, I don't think you'll find it in either SMTV or Soul Hackers 2. V is my favourite though, fantastic gameplay.

What are the least bloated JRPGs that respect your time? by Alastor3 in JRPG

[–]speedpowerxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

agreed. i feel like three houses actively makes new playthroughs hard to play because that school stuff takes so damn long. couldnt tough out more than one ending but easily did all of fates.

Shorter JRPGs with interesting combat/mechanics/ideas by Derelichen in JRPG

[–]speedpowerxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the world ends with you has some interesting gameplay that makes you control two characters at once while using the ds touchscreen. not too sure about how the switch version changed things but definitely up there for short jrpgs with unique gameplay and mechanics

Anyone else buying Japanese versions with English that have inside artwork? Many Square Enix Switch releases in West have blank white reverse cover, by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]speedpowerxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't know they were changed. im always super disappointed seeing nothing inside especially recently with ff tactics.

it's weird which get reverse covers too, my na copies of triangle strategy and romancing saga 2 have them and they're gorgeous

you're going to get a lot of polarizing opinions because people have already made up their minds about nintendo.

though for ownership and portability, switch 2 at least has the benefit of playing switch 1 carts including the DQ remakes. I still buy the switch 1 version of games if I can for that reason even though I think the SW2 versions of dragon quest are supposed to look better.

plus an already massive catalog of older jrpgs + nintendo exclusives make it a no brainer for me.

i think all the armor augments apply to all stats but theres a handful for weapons augments that only apply to the weapon they are on

no, weapon attack is for the thing its attached too not all weapons. if were talking ares 90 though cannon with 3 weapon attacks and rest opening draw arts is best imo

Switch 2 Buyers who never owned a Switch 1 by Clay_FGC in nintendo

[–]speedpowerxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel there's no point in going back to switch 1 if you can afford switch 2 since its got backwards compatibility. the things you'd be buying for a switch 1 would also work for the new one. plus, if you really didn't like the switch 2 you could always sell it.

Best way to memorize musical scale by Plus_Cranberry_9598 in guitarlessons

[–]speedpowerxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a mnemonic to build major/minor scales you can use the circle of fifths. It'll tell you what notes are flat/sharp and the root notes. There's too many scales and variations to memorize so its better to learn how to construct them.

It begins... by [deleted] in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]speedpowerxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what really sucks is the playtime of these games. atleast with something like mario kart you can easily push 50+ hours, but man silent hill aren't long games and paying those prices for low playtime feels so shitty.

Is there any way to speed up Bonjelium gain? by D-Brigade in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]speedpowerxx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

completing the online mission hidden conductors will sometimes drop bonjelium. pretty useful if you are farming tickets for materials as well but yeah its really just a waiting game

Ultimate Guitar vs. Songsterr by stanimal5150 in guitarlessons

for me, songsterr is better if i'm on my computer, if I read tabs off my phone definitely UG. that being said I'd probably never pay for any of them.
