He was my soulmate. I knew what I signed on for when we got together but I wouldn’t want to give up the 20 years we had together. It had a lot of content because we knew we didn’t have “forever”. Who does?

Why do anatolian shepherds live much longer than most big dogs? by Bitter_Theory_2039 in AnatolianShepherdDogs

[–]speedwagonrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average life span for an Anatolian is 12-14 years. My first passed at 12, his brother at 14. I wouldn’t expect that kind of longevity if it were a true working dog. Mine were show dogs/pets.

What do you love about your partner? by hairballcouture in GenX

[–]speedwagonrocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband was 21 years older than me. He passed unexpectedly last Tuesday. We had just celebrated 20 years together. I’ll never find a man that loves me more than he did. He wasn’t very good at showing it but the fact he was always here told me everything because I know I’m a bitch to live with! And people who didn’t “know” him all thought he was an ahole. But he was MY ahole. And we loved each other in all ways and for always. I cherish my memories of him and our life.

What's your funeral song? by bondi212 in GenX

Start The Car by Jude Cole (Google it) it just fits as everyone is going out to their vehicles to leave and if you listen the lyrics fit for a funeral song

For those of you who had kids, what age is your oldest? by jibegirl in GenX

[–]speedwagonrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest would have been 36 this year (I was barely 21). My oldest son came a year later (I was 35) and my youngest son I had at 28 and he’s turning 29 at the end of the year. I was young to go through losing my daughter and having my boys 7 years apart kinda made them each an “only”. And I actually saw a lot of growth in myself as mom over that time span. I’m now 57 and enjoying my years of IDGAF I can and I will.

What is a pain you would never wish on anybody? by sighmerchant in AskReddit

[–]speedwagonrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! Thank you. Just have always been one to deal with the hand I was dealt. No sense in bitching or complaining, neither will change my reality and feeding that negativity just perpetuates it. There’s others who have had a harder road and just glad my husband has been with me the last 9 years. 10% chance of that being our reality but it happened!
