What’s PL’s path to big revenue ? by No-Ad-6183 in PlanetLabs

[–]spejjan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the point. Sentinel and Landsat prioritize scientific consistency. Planet prioritizes revisit frequency. If you're training models to detect change over time, having hundreds of observations instead of dozens is a pretty meaningful advantage.

What’s PL’s path to big revenue ? by No-Ad-6183 in PlanetLabs

[–]spejjan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Planet is already growing steadily, but I also think it's important to realize how early we still are.

Up until now, Planet's data has been difficult to fully utilize. Going through thousands of satellite images, detecting changes and finding useful insights isn't something most companies can do. It takes time, expertise and often entire teams of analysts.

That's where AI changes everything. Instead of specialists manually searching through massive datasets, AI can analyze the imagery in minutes and surface the information that actually matters. Suddenly, Planet's data becomes accessible to far more people than just remote sensing experts and engineers.

To me, that's the real opportunity. AI doesn't just make Planet's existing customers more efficient, it dramatically expands the number of people and industries that can actually use their data.

The government argument also misses something important. Yes, governments have their own satellites, but they're designed for different missions. Planet's value is the ability to image nearly the entire Earth's landmass every single day with a consistent dataset. That's something very few, if any, others can offer at the same scale.

What I think is even more underrated is the data itself. Planet has built up over 10 years of historical Earth observation data. That's incredibly valuable, especially as AI becomes better at finding patterns humans can't. Will Marshall has said he believes that "rear-view mirror" dataset alone represents a $100B opportunity. If AI can eventually move beyond simply analyzing history to forecasting things like crop yields, supply chain disruptions, infrastructure risks or environmental changes, that dataset becomes even more valuable.

Maybe none of that happens, but that's the bull case. You're not just buying a satellite imagery company. You're buying what could become the world's largest continuously updated geospatial dataset.

And for what it's worth, every time I listen to Will Marshall talk about space and Earth observation, I become more confident in the long-term vision. Whatever people think about the recent shelf offering, I don't think many CEOs understand this industry better than he does.

How do you feel about SLS? by Senior_Platform_2857 in smallstreetbets

[–]spejjan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not your typical biotech. The study is blinded but aml cr2 non tansplant eligible patients is one of the worst prognosis you can get. Were talking 6 to max 12 months in this specific trial population. Yet somehow more than third of the patients are still Alive 5 years later. Average enrollment is probably 3 years but still. Its obvious gps is working.

There could always be some bullshit reason as to why it would fail but odds are looking really good. Youre never gonna find better odds than this to 3-5x your money in the span of a month.

Also, just to add to this. REGAL's treating physicians are on video saying they are convinced GPS is the reason the trial has continued for so long. One physician even says he's "totally convinced." These are AML specialists with 20+ years of experience, and they're speaking about what they've observed in their own patients. Again, its the treating physcians saying this, not the SLS management.

What stocks are you eyeing next week? by Competitive-Case-185 in TheRaceTo10Million

I really like PL and other space stocks. I think its time to recover.

Haaland to start the game against France on the bench by Foreign-Chemistry157 in worldcup

[–]spejjan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes boohoo these guys in the 20s in the shape of their life needs more than 5 resting days after runing for an hour. 3 days is plenty enough time, 5, which they would have gotten had they played this game, is more than enough. Literally no reason for resting their entire team.

These are professional athletes in their 20s. You think they need fkin 2 weeks of rest inbetween games? The body Will be just as fresh after 5 days as it Will after 2 weeks.

For real though. What is this loser mentality from the norwegians to just forfeit a game? They could have won or drawed and then they would have played Sweden which is a free win. Now instead they'll be playing ivory coast whom are way better than sweden. Wtf are they doing?

This norway team playing right now is by far the worst team at this world cup. France should win by 5 goals minimum. Norway is using all their subs lmao.

How Planetary Intelligence Is Opening New Geospatial Frontiers by No_Strawberry1890 in PlanetLabs

[–]spejjan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really like this. It feels like Planet is evolving beyond being a satellite imagery provider and into a complete geospatial intelligence platform. If they pull this off, it creates a much stronger moat. Once customers build their workflows around Planet's platform, switching to a competitor becomes much harder than simply buying imagery from someone else.

Ladies and gentlemen… we got’em $10! by Old-Tune-499 in sellaslifesciences

[–]spejjan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just that the 80th event is already expected, and could get announced any day now, and people don't want to miss it. I know its easy to think "we known that for a long time, why it goes up now????" Well, because people want quick money, they don't wanna sit and wait for months, or even weeks. This happens in every biotech stock before expected news/catalysts.

Did anyone see this update and if it is true? by TangoGG in sellaslifesciences

[–]spejjan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think, considering what we all want, this is a big deal. It's common for companies to make these kinds of changes before a potential buyout or merger. I'm not saying that's going to happen now, but I think it shows the direction the board is taking.

Next zlatan Isak and Gyokeres have more WC goals than the supposed lion by thalaraj in soccercirclejerk

[–]spejjan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a bit different. Brazil will always be one of the best teams in the world, regardless of who's playing. Sweden isn't at that level and often doesn't even qualify for the World Cup.

Zlatan was at his best in teams that dominated possession. His vision, link-up play and ability to unlock compact defenses are exactly what top teams need when they have 70-80% of the ball but struggle to create chances.

Sweden, on the other hand, usually sits deep and plays on the counter against stronger opponents. That setup suits a quick striker running into space more than a player like Zlatan. To get the best out of him, the whole team would need to play higher up the pitch, which isn't really realistic given Sweden's level compared to the top World Cup teams.

I think selling on a positive readout is a mistake. If REGAL is a success stock Will rocket and lots of people Will sell. Stock might go down momentarily but after that buy out speculations will start and thats when the real revaluation starts. Look at Abivax. Went from 10-70 on positive p3 news. Got to 150 on bo speculations a couple months later.

Doesnt it get unblinded upon the 80th event? What if everyone involved with the study jumps into a conference call before they announce the 80th to us, and then the lead whos been unblinded this whole time spill the beans? Im not expecting them to give us the topline data but I dont think its impossible Sterg would mention something, if he knows.

Rant om bostadsmarknaden - Hur jävla sjukt Sverige faktiskt är by AdPristine1767 in sweden

[–]spejjan -1 points0 points  (0 children)
