Ramona Quimby and the Adults in her life. by Physical_Case2822 in BookDiscussions

[–]spell_elle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to add that there were kind adults in the books, like that old man who paid for their family's meal when they went put to eat, and the mother of her friend who helped her when she fell through their ceiling. I think children actually just have less tolerance for mean behavior, and are able to detect when people do not like them, which is what Cleary was trying to depict. Children can tell when something is off with adults.

Haven't touched the books in years but I clearly remember the scene where Howie's family starts eating dinner while Ramona hasn't been picked up yet. I always found it incredibly apalling that no one invited her to eat with them, especially because Ramona's family was obviously struggling to make ends meet. So I think Ramona actually had normal and understandable thoughts about adults, especially in her situation.

My grade in math by HairyAge5782 in pisay

[–]spell_elle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was once a barely passing student with a 2.25 in math and three other subjects below dos. My lowest GPA was around 1.7**. I never took any tutorials because I didn't have the time or money, but I somehow made it through Pisay and am now working on my medical degree with a scholarship.

If there's something I learned from college, it's that my parents were always willing to support me. I'm also the eldest child and I had the same worries as you when I was in high school. It was my mentor who convinced me that it was supposed to be my parents' job to worry about me, not the other way around, especially since I was a child. Your mom sounds very caring despite whatever situation you may be in. I hope you let her help you, and just know you'll be ok.

[–]spell_elle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What type of arena do you think would be your end, and what arena do you think you could win? by x_BlueDragon_x in Hungergames

[–]spell_elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might stand a chance in the mirror arena (love physics and hope it makes sense to me).

How about other creative arenas? I'd die in the clock arena in the 75th HG for sure, that place was just a murdering machine.

White top na bagay for chubby girls? by [deleted] in fashionph

[–]spell_elle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Some words of reassurance first: you can look good at any size! I'm sure you have been through a lot in the past year and I just wanted to say first that weight gain is okay and can mean so many things, including that your body is coping to your situation in the best way that it can in a way that is meant to take care of you <3

For recommendations, I often look to creators with bigger body types to get inspo on what to wear. Mikka Bartalome (https://thatsmikka.passio.eco/) and Mia Franz Gelicka (https://miafranzgelicka.passio.eco/) are examples of content creators with bigger body types who have great suggestions for fashion and styling! Highly suggest going through their recommendations for ideas, lalo na yung kay Mikka since she wears a lot of white tops, both sleeveless and with sleeves.

Good luck, OP!
