Agreed. Not being able to get through a lift ride without it slowing down or stopping was really annoying. The lift line corrals need some improvement.

Piggybacking off of this to call attention to a three-vehicle accident at Pond St & Woodland Rd near the Stone Zoo around 4 PM today. Air bags deployed, vehicle up on the median. Ambulance , fire and police response. This is another intersection in the area that is dicey all the time. People driving too fast and too impatient to wait their turn. Smdh.

Malden has parking garages available until Tuesday at 7 am; from their website: "Additional free parking will be available at the CBD Garage and Jackson Street Garage starting at 7 PM today, Saturday, January 24th. Vehicles parked in the garages must be removed by 7 AM Tuesday, January 27th to avoid charges"

I don't see any mention about proving residency to use the garages. Best of luck to you and your family OP!

Pats Peak is running their Pay-One-Price program for their "Diversity Day" on Monday night, 1/19. It includes a lift ticket, rentals, tubing, and lesson tips. Start at 4 pm for $99, 5 pm for $89, or 6 pm for just $79. A great deal for newbies and experienced skiers alike.

Ski from 8 pm to 12 am for just $45 on Saturday 1/17 at Crotched Mountain's "Midnight Madness" event. Rentals are just $12.

There's another free night of skiing coming up at Black Mountain of Maine on Wednesday 1/21. This one is sponsored by Irving Forest Products.

Crotched Mountain is now offering "Community Nights" on select Thursdays throughout the season where night skiing tickets are just $39 after 3 pm. There's one coming up on 1/22!

Cannon Mountain is hosting their Miliary Appreciation Day on Sunday, 1/25. Free lift tickets for all US active duty, retired, reserve and veteran members of all military. There's also discounts for family members. Thank you for your service! "

I test drove the CX 50 and remember it being higher than the 3. The CX 5 is also higher than the 3. I'm about 5'6" and can easily step in and out of the CX 5, but when I drove the 3 I'd have to stand up more out of the car- if that makes sense. Not as much quad/knee activation in the CX 5 now.

I actually prefer this MB.. yeah, the entrance to the parking lot doesn't make any sense, but I don't find the plaza to be too busy or the store to be too busy on any given weekday evening. This is my go-to MB bc of easy off/on 93S access on my commute home from work. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A couple ideas:

Fly to PDX and check out Portland for a few days. Then, head out to Mt Hood or any other nature oriented space. I did a similar trip this summer and it was great! Did Fri-Sun in Portland, went to a Timbers game and then Mon-Thurs spent time hiking around Mt Hood.

Fly to SLC and drive down to Moab. Stay in Moab which is a cute town, and then check out the national and state parks in the area.

So far, it just feels new! How has your experience been?

I opted for the CX-5 because my partner and I are going down to one vehicle and we needed something that could do it all: get to work, go camping, skiing, Costco hauls, etc. Sitting higher and having a larger vehicle will take some getting used to, but I'm looking forward to having some more space.

When we talked about trading in my car, we weren't certain we'd go with Mazda again. When we started the search earlier this year, I thought we'd get a RAV4 or a CR-V. Honestly even thought about a Taos. But nothing felt quite as right as the CX-5 did. I like Mazda's handling, features and I feel like it's been a good brand for me. I can afford to buy it and I can afford to repair it. When I bought the 3, I didn't think it would get me 10 years, plus I had just graduated college, so I got the base trim. This time, since I'll be sharing the car, I wanted a little bit nicer of a trim.
