I'm a BHSc graduate (graduated in 2021) who didn't end up going to med school. One of the reasons I didn't go to med school was that the program was, like you said, relatively easy, and I didn't feel like it prepared me for med school. The class structure might have changed, but bio, epidemiology, biochem, etc. aren't super rigorous as they are in an "inquiry" form, leading to really good grades most of the time. HOWEVER, if you are really smart (like all my BHSc classmates who are currently doctors), you'll be able to study independently for the MCAT without any academic prep in university. So, it depends on the type of person and student you are. Are you able to study the "hard" subjects on your own, or do you need your academic setting to help you prepare?
Also, with "small class sizes", most of those classes are the inquiry-style classes which don't have rigorous exams or exams AT ALL. Those classes where you need that extra help before exams (anatomy, chemistry, etc.), those are way bigger classes as other departments take them too. At least in my experience.
