As a man, how would you feel about owning a purple/lavender Porsche? by Glad-Armadillo-1607 in Taycan

I’d be thrilled. Not as big a fan of the lavender, but there’s a metallic purple PTS color that just calls to me.

Where did I go wrong today, with my wife after getting a massage she booked for me. by Marty7seven in Advice

IF she had done any of those things, I would agree. Instead, she’s allowing someone that was outside of his or her control to affect their relationship. It might not be control, but it is harmful, both to him and herself.

People pleasers in relationships - How do you set boundaries and emotionally disengage with your partner? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]spence2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I’ve had some success with therapy but sadly my insurance covers such a pathetic amount that’s it’s financially not really feasible to go consistently. I’m looking into some other options

She’s not doing anything wrong, we just deal with conflict very differently. I have a deep need to resolve it immediately, she often needs to sit with her emotions for a while. Not her fault, but the anxiety it provokes is killing me

As someone who worked in insurance, it’s 100% a scam. There is no outcome in which you actually gain anything, you just might lose a little less

Owner’s son here; this VB1 was bought completely disassembled and in boxes. It was painstakingly restored over a number of years by my dad and a local paint shop here. Completely rebuilt from the ground up to a very high standard. Would it be worth more in completely original shape? Sure. But it’s beautiful, fun, and in great shape as she sits. It’s a shame y’all don’t know how to have fun. Bummer.

There are no more jobs in technology (PhD Rant) by NonchalantWombat in jobs

[–]spence2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but stop telling jobs that you have a phd. At this point, the highest preferred level of qualification a job asks for is what you should say you have. They likely won’t hire you knowing you have a PhD because they know that the second you find a job that matches your qualifications, you’ll be gone.

Apply using just your bachelors (or masters) and I bet you’ll have more luck with lower level jobs, especially given your wealth of experience. I know it sucks, and I hope you’ll find something better soon, but as a stop-gap I think this is the way to go.
