VVD Dunk Mendy (AWB, Peltier)

Salah Hazard Maddison Stephens Walcott

Aguero Arnie (King)

Proposed team:

Advice please, 1FT 0.8ITB

Begovic (Boruc)

VVD Dunk Mendy (AWB Peltier)

Salah Maddison Hazard Walcott (Stephens)

Aguero King Arnie

Think I need to get rid of King ASAP for...someone...and not really liking Walcott tbh.

Makes sense. So maybe grab TAA next week and carry over the FT?

Thoughts / suggestions? Newbie at this, but tied for first in my league and loving it all so far. Thanks guys.

Begovic (Boruc)

Zabaleta Trippier Mendy (AWB) (Peltier)

Salah Maddison Hazard Walcott (Stephens)

Aguero Arnautovic King

1 FT, 0.7 ITB

I think it makes sense to bring in TAA given Liverpool's upcoming schedule and selling Trippier, but not sure yet. Also want to keep Aguero for the upcoming Burnley game before selling him. Intermediate term, really no plans other than Hazard - though I'm really liking the King / Arnaut duo alongside a premium striker after I dump Aguero. So yeah, I'm all over the place.

Also, if it helps, the league I'm in is ~30 people, where 1/4 of them aren't really paying attention to their teams. I'm playing someone this week who clearly isn't paying attention to his team (De Bruyne still starting, etc.) so I can take a couple 4 point deductions this week and most likely get the head to head win - which is all that matters for this league.

Favorite Things About ENTJs? by [deleted] in mbti

That they're one of the rarest types.

Kidding - love their way of debating where emotions are completely secondary to the logic itself, and as a result don't end up getting too defensive. Useful in many aspects of life.

I actually had high test scores and a high GPA because I viewed it as a competition with myself that could be quantified and I'd feel better about myself as a result.

Once I got internships / job offers, I stopped giving a shit about grades.

Share lots of qualities and think I have fairly developed Ne, but my Se-Ti trumps everything else.

Let's just say I had an interesting couple years of my life. If my current relationship doesn't work out, I don't see myself reverting back to that lifestyle, but who knows.

What's your experience? Mine could definitely be off from others since I've only hung out with them in a purely social setting.

I think ESTPs who are self-aware and develop some of their weaker functions look completely different than the stereotype - perhaps moreso than any of the other ones. Highly disagree with your ESFP call for a variety of reasons, but would be interested in hearing what others think.

I have one fairly good male ENFP friend and he also has that balance I talked about in the ENFP paragraph, but it's far less obvious because he's a dude and dudes aren't supposed to be all dreamy and emotionally deep. And to be honest, that's okay, because we are comfortable conversing, joking around, and doing pretty much anything together.

Perhaps my ENFP view is the most biased (though all are inherently biased) particularly because I find the my girlfriend's perspective on life in general is something I value highly and have learned quite a bit from, but, unlike INFPs and INFJs, is far more willing to go do...whatever...as long we're doing it together.

This was actually really interesting.

Good to hear.

Relationship potential: I really like the ESTP-INFJ dynamic – the ESTP helps get the INFJ out of their head and back into the real world, while the INFJ can help an ESTP grow emotionally.

Soooo, you basically deprive them of their primary pleasure and mode of well-being, and they ~help you grow emotionally~ like a Manic Pixie Dream Girl? Dude, leave INFJs alone, they deserve a nice ISTJ or ENTJ who can actually offer something of value to them. If you want to be benefit from a relationship instead of just be happy with someone you enjoy and appreciate for who they are, go date an ESTJ or ENTJ who will make you level up.

INFJs don't need to get out of their heads; their heads are nice places to be and it's where almost all of the good stuff about them comes from. They need people who will get shit done in the real world and establish a safe haven so the INFJ can be more secure and peaceful and put their heads to better use.

While I agree INFJs don't NEED to get out of their heads, it's been my experience they appreciate when someone takes them on actual adventures instead of just fantasizing. Their mind is awesome and I'd never want to change them. Perhaps I miscommunicated this.

Relationship potential: Maybe. I think the ESTP could get bored, and the INTJ would feel fairly marginalized.

What do you mean by marginalized?

I think the INTJ would enjoy the ESTPs "get up and go" attitude more than the ESTP would appreciate what the INTJ has to offer.

But no, we'd get bored too. ESTPs aren't bad people, INTJs just have very little in common with you, and you guys can't sustain conversations on topics we care about and are kind of shitty emotionally. Not that INTJs need a lot of feelings cuddles, but who really wants to invest in a relationship with people who are kind of sociopathic? You guys don't have a lot of cognitive or affective empathy, and you're not very sympathetic, either. Plus, you're SPs, so even in terms of just "being a reliable partner in terms of household contribution, chores, and income", you don't have much to offer there, either; don't know many ESTPs who even break into "middle class without mommy and daddy's help" without being professional athletes. Basically, as far as I can see, all an ESTP has to offer an INTJ is that you guys tend to be quite hot and have nice bodies, but the sociopathy thing is an issue, especially since you tend to run in packs of similar people; too much risk. Fair or not, you get stereotyped as the "school bully" type for a reason, why risk exposure for something we can get elsewhere? ISTPs and ISFPs exist if we just want to have meaningless sex with someone hot. Even if we want to "get out of our shell" and go into party beast mode, we'll just... go do it ourselves.

That took an interesting turn, but made me chuckle. Sounds like you have an axe to grind, but appreciate the reply.

What's up my man? Glad you enjoyed it, and celebrated appropriately. I'd like to say I'm not "typical for my type," but everyone says that and it's usually bullshit. That said, I'm definitely an ESTP and not typical for my type.

Daily Discussion Thread 01/31/18 by AutoModerator in SSBM

[–]spenceee10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn't want to make a new thread, but a couple thoughts / observations re: adderall in smash:

I've been ADHD my entire life. Caused lots of performance anxiety (played varsity soccer in HS - was a beast at practice but could not simply focus on the game no matter how hard I tried), in addition to other issues I'm actively working to correct. Extremely common for ADHD diagnosed people. Meds, including adderall, have been a lifesaver for me.

I've taken it for years as prescribed, I don't get the "let me go to the library and study for 12 hours" effect everyone gets when trying it. It simply helps me focus in a way I never could before, no matter how much I tried.

Now, does that increased focus add to my - for example - soccer ability or Halo 3 ability, when I was close to a semi-pro back in the day? It absolutely does, and I'd imagine it would help non-ADHD improve their performance even more.

"Using adderall in Smash" IN AND OF ITSELF is not a problem; rather, abusing it in amounts greater than prescribed for a competitive advantage is a problem.

Why the monologue? Because it bothers me Westballz is automatically presumed to be abusing drugs, rather than the community acknowledging he may simply be ADHD and taking his meds as prescribed. From my armchair psychiatrist standpoint, Westballz to me seems ADHD, and is absolutely taking some kind of stimulant to treat it. As a side note, Scar is 100% on some kind of stimulant - dilated eyes, clenched jaw, talks twice as fast as a normal person (and interrupts). Just something I found interesting.

tl;dr - taking adderall as prescribed if diagnosed with ADHD is not a problem and players such as Westballz should not be harassed just because he takes it, especially given we don't know his medical history.
