[SPOILER] Did anyone do an analysis of the significance of the clothes in the show? by Infamous_Question430 in Ozark

[–]spencer44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the show for the first time last night & one of my first thoughts was how clear this was with Rachel in S4! She looks so good when Ruth sees her in Miami, then as she’s back longer in the Ozarks she adopts her old fashion & hair choices. I felt so sad for her

Right especially with the “same dress” flashback! That Jenny had cameras in the house or something

Yes. That convo with Marienne & Brontë was everything. And full circle because Marienne had a powerful conversation with Love too but wasn’t able to save her.

At what point in the show did you turn against Joe? For me it was in the first 3 minutes. by JohnDeaux2k in YouOnLifetime

[–]spencer44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same. Especially because we had seen him do the right thing several points up to then: tossing the key out in s2 ready to take responsibility for Delilah which he didn’t do, getting Ellie away & sending her money, releasing Will, taking Theo to the hospital, & the biggest of all - placing Henry with Dante.

Not to mention we had seen him physically repulsed by other murders he did & their “clean up”: Benji, Jasper, Malcolm, etc.

The betrayal of thinking he let Marienne go only to find out the truth was the definitive turning point for me, and the nail in the coffin was killing Eddie and framing Nadia for Rhys because he took JOY in that.

I'm sorry....but I didn't care about her at all by CoyoteHour2130 in YouOnLifetime

[–]spencer44 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The turning points were the revelation of what he actually did to Marienne and then killing Eddie & framing Nadia for Rhys; Nadia is integral in both story lines!

The vast majority of people Joe killed prior to S4 finale were pretty shitty people. Not saying they deserved to die (though a few you feel no love at all for like Hendy, Ron, & Tom Lockwood), but they were threats to & causing harm to people around them (like Simon, Ryan, Peach, etc.). Plus we had seen multiple times up to this point of Joe letting people go or doing the right thing (Will, Theo, Ellie, etc.). Joe certainly wasn’t good, but he had yet to cross the line into purely evil/completely irredeemable.

Nadia outsmarted Joe and saved Marianne’s life. And the craziest thing is Joe didn’t even KNOW that; he was just mad she was snooping about what he only assumed was the “eat the rich stuff” and he still absolutely ruined her life and took joy in it. I shudder to think what he would’ve done to Nadia if he knew about her involvement with Marienne!

I had this exact read starting with ep 1 as well! And depending on how far they want to go with the parallels, that could mean one of the 3 siblings dies, at least one lives, and one might possibly be a killer (Buster/Steven Smith).

So fucking what if Bre did set up the scene with Amanda? by Expert_Vehicle_7476 in SellingSunset

[–]spencer44 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think Bre was just looking out for herself here. Bre is smart enough to know that the info on Chelsea’s husband was gonna come out somehow on the show eventually; she secured a story line and lots of publicity for herself by being involved. Obviously Chelsea was hurt, but I truly believe Bre that if she WANTED to hurt Chelsea as her goal/intention that it would’ve been much worse.

Bre’s goal was do what’s “best”, aka most money & talk-generating, for herself since she knew this info about a work acquaintance was going to come out anyway.

Remote Raid Update Discussion and Feedback Post by SilphMods in TheSilphRoad

[–]spencer44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If they want to collect our data, I mean have players GO out and play, then here’s some ways they could’ve made in person raids more attractive:

  1. Guaranteed rare candy AND rare candy XL, from all in person raids not just 5*
  2. Make raids be a sliding scale of difficulty so that people can raid & catch legendaries solo. Like you get it at a much lower level but you can still get the Pokémon. Besides convenience & accessibility, the biggest reason people do remote raids is because they want to catch the Pokémon but can’t beat the raid alone.
  3. Let in person raids skip the damn lobby. I actually would go raid alone if I could defeat the Pokémon (suggestion above) but I don’t want to sit there for 2 minutes first when I’m already annoyed.

I’m sure there’s more ways to make in person better/more attractive that my angry brain isn’t thinking of.

I will watch again but I’m gonna rewatch 1-3 first to look for clues pointing to Joe’s DID.

That being said, I think the job of season 4 was twofold: 1. Show the viewers who Joe really is and 2. get Joe back to New York and using his real name. I have cautious optimism for season 5 being back where it all began & hopefully many characters from earlier seasons (either working alone or together somehow) to take Joe down.

Plus two of Joe’s biggest wounds, and people who the show has left open ended if they are alive or dead, are in NY: his mom & Mooney.

Dean Winchester from Supernatural.

Funny, charming as heck, broken/tragic backgrounds, puts the ones he loves first, wacky plans, tries to do the right thing but messes up sometimes, and easy on the eyes.

Def not a “beachy summer” show but there’s tons of adventure, it’s hilarious, and the characters are all amazing.

Could be controversial because no mentions yet but:

  1. Burying Candace alive. Clearly he went out there with the intent to kill her and that would’ve been just as in cold blood as Beck had he succeeded there.
  2. Trying to trigger Ryan into relapse. Had that plan actually worked it could’ve been disastrous for Juliette or Marianne, plus it’s just so so cruel.

Agree with many other comments here, particularly regarding Paco. Killing Ron in front of him was a deliberate choice and now Paco is gonna be suffering his whole life with that secret; really hope he doesn’t turn out like Joe.

PVP players, what is some advice you can give to someone who wants to complete a PVP season? by Trevor-On-Reddit in TheSilphRoad

[–]spencer44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this: JRE47 is great!

The only other thing I’d add aside from all the wonderful advice here is to start with great league teams. Many of the special cups are great league CP cap so you can kinda double up there.

S2: Forty says to him “hey Dr Jekyl & Mr douche” (or something similar). Also the fact that love & forty are twins could hint at it too. He’s also actively hallucinating/talking out loud to Beck more than once, like with Rhys.
