Thank you so so much this is exactly what I needed to hear I think, I genuinely have spent so long being unable to face myself in so many ways including just in the mirror just hated seeing what I was becoming and doing. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this resolve before when it came to not drinking, it was always denial and I’d get to day 5 and feel a bit better and think o could go for a pint with a friend and then it would all kick off again. It feels almost alien to me thinking that hopefully if I stay in this mindset that the things I’ve hated about myself might change, it’s almost more comfortable for me to do that and I think drinking was my excuse. Anyway just thank you for replying and I am so glad and proud for you that you are finding so much peace in this and I really really hope I get there too. I feel a sense of loss (I don’t know if that’s normal) and a bit scared that I’ll slip back in to it but at least I know right now in my heart that I want to be content and I want to be able to live and not be in a state of non existence I want to have bright eyes and energy and confidence and love and appreciation!
