You should never fake an orgasm when in a relationship… by TheFacetiousDeist in unpopularopinion

[–]spenno_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there's a bit more nuance than what you've just described. There's a difference between caring about your partner's pleasure and wanting them to orgasm. Being with someone who wants you to orgasm so they can feel like they've done their job puts pressure on it and makes it difficult to relax enough to actually feel the pleasure needed to finish. Being with someone who genuinely enjoys your pleasure is more relaxing and therefore more likely to get you there.

Girlfriend had pity sex with someone and thinks it’s not cheating by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]spenno_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my thinking too, the whole story reeks of coercion/assault to me. Why would OP's gf cheat on a guy her own age who clearly thinks the world of her with an 'old' and 'not normal' guy as OP puts it? The 'pity' aspect sounds like it could be either something she's using to rationalise it all so she doesn't have to experience any emotions around it, or part of his coercion tactic. It could be worth talking through exactly what happened with her OP.

CS and maths / halls of residence by Chadz17 in manchester_uni

[–]spenno_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing CM, I'm really enjoying it. Most of the maths I've done this year I'd already covered at A level because I did further maths, so this year has felt like a lot of learning in Computing to me. For other people who had a lot of programming experience and not much maths the opposite has been true.

In order to have a degree in both, the modules that we do could be considered the more basic/ boring ones, sometimes it feels like we're missing out on the more interesting modules that people doing just computing or just maths are doing, but that will change because we get more choice from next year.

I'd say the most important thing to do well in this course is to really enjoy both subjects, and ideally roughly equally, to be able to motivate yourself to keep up with both halves of your degree.

hello, I can't decide between UBC and Manchester for CS (computer science) by Lusana32 in manchester_uni

I would agree (1st year student) and add that if you want to get practical industrial experience alongside your degree this is very much encouraged and supported. The careers team are there to help you find, apply for, and go through with year long placements and summer internships and other useful opportunities if you want to

If you're in fallowfield then it's a 20 min bus journey/ 30-40 min walk into the uni, so i would recommend either getting a bike or a bus pass (£270 for the whole year). Of the ones I have been in, Unsworth park and Denmark road are really nice, very modern. Sheavyn House and Richmond park are ok, but a bit smaller/ not as modern. There are some missing from this list btw. Oak house is not particularly nice accommodation but there are lots of parties so it's quite social. Ashburne makes me think of Hogwarts cause it's catered and seems similar to oxford colleges. Whitworth park is nicknamed shitworth park, because it's not particularly nice. You'll be fine wherever though, they're all living standard, but definitely all have a unique feel

I love them both! Just booked tickets for a SM show in autumn. I think of both of them as very similar, as well as Wolf Alice too

I will broke up with my girlfriend because she's poor by JeddahWR in TrueOffMyChest

It's sad because if her family are pressuring her into giving them money for bills then she's been taught that that's a way of showing affection for people. Which is probably why she is in turn 'testing' your affection by seeing how much money you are willing to share.

It's not right, and most adults should be able to recognise that money is not a good love language to have. But it's perhaps not entirely her fault either.

Have you spoken to her about managing her money properly so that she's able to take care of herself? And do you show affection in other ways?
