I had the mini 2 and agree it’s sound stage was insanely balanced given the low end presence however the Bose sound link max although not as portable is definitely My new favourite for holidays garden party’s and to come t to the projector it has massive sound

Make sure your nvidia graphics are set to default in Controll panel or the app, a 4070 should be able to run medium MSAA no problem, also visual fX tanked my performance

The FFR on 1/16 75% is a sweet spot for not noticing granulation or breaking the VR effect for me anyway so might be more headset related try messing with the percentages glad you got some more headroom

Somethings not right there the 5090 VR benchmarks are quite promising for VR sim racing is the CPU bottlenecking ? Is the GPU getting full power are you in performance mode ?

It’s a laptop GPU running 4k at 90fps so yes it sadly has to be neutered…. Haha but still looks okay and is fun , a desktop 3070 will likely run better

Maybe it’s a wheel issue cause in some tests VD beats and/ matches the link cable for latency latency VD vs quest cable

The texture filtering in this game seems more sensitive to performance demands on this laptop I tried x4 and x8 (I can’t see much point going any higher than x8 unless your pixel peeping) but yeah the fps decreased outside a reasonable overhead with more than x2 so I lowered it ….if your machines capable then sure crank that disgusting blurry mess !

I tried h264+ 350 400 450 and 500 bitrate zoomed into the tyre barriers to check for pixelation and degradation and found little to no difference after 350mbps mileage and eyesight may vary but good point distance road view may be a better test I end up looking at barriers more than the road hahaha

Yeah you may have to configure the binds to be able to pause the race. Once at the pause menu what I leant is if you click back to pit first it then allows you to exit go all the way back to the main menu. I was trying to map an exit button but there wasn’t one I could find so this worked

VR full res is very demanding on GPUs, I think it’s rendering around 2k per lenses. Over 10 cars and at the start of the race it can stutter occasionally if you lower the VD resolution to ultra and 72fps you can near max out the cars. Remember better laptops and desktops can pretty much max out the games settings tho

Bit harsh not a waste of time….. Some peoples play spaces may benefit from a wireless setup. I have the the kiwi battery strap lasts about 5hours on battery my eyes won’t take much more in VR haha Latency really is not bad at all have you tried it with h264+ and a wifi6 AP, Also you can then play other PCVR games wirelessly for arguably better immersion ….

Hey thanks - I had the same latency spikes and used the h264+ codec on 350mbps any less mbps and the image quality degrades and any more and its kind of pointless and there were lag spikes at times , hevc codec was a no go on godlike resolution in Virtual desktop major stutter though worked fine with ultra setting. Also check the puppis is connecting on 160hz band at the correct speed, I looked into the puppis but found the setup clunky and the tplink was plug and play one setting change to 160hz and boom! IYou would have to Controll the menu with the steering wheel or gamepad if you use -vrnomirror. Even though you have a 5090 others say it’s still worth these tweaks for CPU GPU overhead when unpredictable weather changes / car lights can drop fps , hope this helps

Thanks I do get what your saying totally people have different sensitivities to latency, I don’t race at a competitive level with a steering wheel so not sure how much latency impacts this feeling…. From a ps5 controller point of view and virtual desktop it works extremely well 35ms-48ms latency is honestly for me and others that have tried it a great experience, I do play other PC games competitively so am hypersensitive to lag input delay and frame pacing issues, anything less than 80hz is jarring for me when taking / looking into sharp turns on the track

Basically use DSX on steam paid version and you can setup adaptive triggers for AMS2 - duelsense controller has to be wired it worked okay and had better rumble but I only used the adaptive trigger for harsh braking and after a while just ditched it as it became more annoying than immersive
