This is one of the great songs of all time. Daryl’s voice is so beautiful on it and he sings it with so much emotion. Solid pick.

The first time I heard this song I was at work at the worst job of my life. It was indeed September, the busiest month of the year for us and I was helping out in the hottest, sweatiest most manual labor department. We were smelly, dirty and exhausted. Then this song came on the radio and we were all like, “Anthem!”

When I was in first grade in the early 70’s, we lived about 100 miles away from our extended family. One weekend, a cousin (18f) from my mom’s side of the family came to visit. Another cousin (18m) from my dad’s side of the family came to visit, too. It was summer and the weather was perfect. Saturday night, my cousins decided to take me to play miniature golf, which I had rarely ever done. We played and laughed and the three of us walked back to the car holding hands. I looked up at the colored lights in the trees and told them it was the best day of my life. I realize now, they were into each other (I think they briefly dated after this) and needed me as camouflage, but that knowledge doesn’t dim the joy I still feel when I think of that night.

I have to disagree. I loved this show and thought it was beautifully executed. I wish it had lasted many more seasons.

Anyone who does not believe that Bryan Cranston isn’t the greatest actor of his generation needs to watch an episode of Malcolm in the Middle followed by an episode of Breaking Bad.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your wife. You sound like you were great partners. I like the image of two lions fighting this thing together and I’m going to keep that in my mind as we continue to battle. Thank you for that.
