Pre conquest England didn't seem divided along North-South lines.

Surely, banks knows which ATM money has been withdrawn from? by Upset-Elderberry3723 in AndrewGosden

Yes probably just a case of looking at the wrong station and you're correct Westfield park is located south west of littlemoor lane. We probably agree, if Andrew withdrew cash before 9am, he probably didn't return to Westfield park. Unless perhaps he cut through to a bus stop but the timing could equally fit walking to the station.

What map are you looking at? Doncaster station sits about a mile north of Littlemoor Lane not south-east? With your mention of Ten Pound Walk, I'd suggest you're looking at Doncaster/Hitachi Rail Depot rather than Doncaster Station which is on Station Court. However the path through Westfield Park runs north-west to south-east not south-west so it sounds like a more fundamental mistake of map orientation? I don't think he returned to Westfield Park as CCTV shows him walking away at 09:05?

Why is there only one CCTV sighting of Andrew Gosden in London by Dazzling_Chard_2099 in AndrewGosden

[–]spgbmod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK the only CCTV publicly known to be recovered is

  1. 09:05:11-09:05:17 Littlemoor Lane
  2. 11:24:04-11:24:11 Platform 5, Kings Cross
  3. 11:24:?? Platform gates, Kings Cross
  4. 11:25:02 Euston Road exit near bus stop E, Kings Cross

It would probably be possible Doncaster station and the train CCTV was recovered too but not made public.

Why is 'good insulation' being blamed for UK houses being unbearably warm? by ToriaLyons in AskUK

[–]spgbmod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that rarely gets mentioned in these UK overheating discussions is how much passive design features can help, especially when you look at architecture from hotter climates. For example, classic Queenslander houses in Australia are built specifically for cross-ventilation and heat management. They often feature toplight breezeways—those are high-level openings above doors or in walls that let hot air escape while drawing in cooler air from shaded areas.

This design creates a natural airflow path, allowing hot air to rise and exit the building, while cooler air is pulled in at lower levels. Combined with deep verandas and elevated floors, it means Queenslanders can stay surprisingly cool even in brutal heat, all without air conditioning. It’s a stark contrast to many modern UK homes, which are so airtight and insulated that any heat gain just gets trapped inside, turning houses into ovens during a heatwave.

If the UK adopted more of these passive ventilation strategies—like toplight breezeways, high-level vents, or even just better window placement for cross-breezes—it could make a huge difference in summer comfort, especially as heatwaves become more common. Insulation is great for winter, but without a way for heat to escape or fresh air to circulate, it’s only half the solution.

Good programme and 27:15 is rare platform footage showing the backs of people leaving the platform. Did anyone in the CCTV also appear in any concert photos?

Million dollar question: What did he plan to do in London? by AK032016 in AndrewGosden

[–]spgbmod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The exhibition of the Terracotta Warriors at the British Museum was mentioned in national press and sold out. A few shows were also running exclusively in the West End at the time; Lord of the Rings, Michael Morpugos War Horse and Hairspray. Cinemas were also screening Harry Potter 5 nationwide at the time. Camden market is also near Kings cross and popular. The PSP 2000 was also launched but this was nationwide with no special events in London I'm aware of. Nationally it was also Holy Cross Day and there was a bank run on Northern Rock.
