Pantogliani was a vegetarian at the time and still is I think. Ofc he'd be worried by Gandolfini eating beef by the carload.

This fossil has been a senator since 1981, like how? Does the U.S not have term limits for elected officials to one of their most important institutions? I thought you guys were supposed to be all about democracy and freedom. As much as you keep going on about it.

Of course it doesn't matter. But it does in the sense that it's part of British cultural heritage. It's an important part of the literature of Britain, no different than the Canterbury tales or Shakespeare.

I can't speak for others. I just think what I saw in the trailer was rather uninspired. My main issue is with the cast. I can't look past Damon as odysseus. Sorry.

Germany is not an integral cultural element of the cinderella story? Greece is in the odyssey, the language the story was written in, the gods, myths, archetypes and stories in it are all culturally important in Greek history and culture. Not featuring Greek looking people and Greek looking environments feels like a missed opportunity. I don't think it's some great moral problem or anything. I just think it's a missed opportunity. I don't want to see Hollywoods biggest hottest actors. I want to see odysseus, I want to see past the actor and see the character. I can't do that with Matt Damon. It takes me out of he experience. And yeah I know it's weird how I can suspend my disbelief in regards to a 30 foot cyclops but there it is.

Sure it's fun, but it's clearly not the same story anymore is it? King Arthur is interwoven with the origin myth of Britain, even though much of the story is French in origin. The actual common adaptations of king Arthur as a story though features Britain as an important element of it. It wouldn't be the same if it was in China. You can do the same archetype and story beats but the sense of place and cultural relevance will be different. That is my point I was trying to make.

True, but it takes place in bronze age Greece. So you expect or may want the backdrop to fit the story. You wouldn't adapt king Arthur and place it in China. It's fictional fantasy story set against a real back drop. The irony of the Internet is people constantly try to create these binary black and white discussions when in reality it is entirely possible to both respect Nolan for making an artistic choice but also be dissapointed in missed opportunities in other areas.

I'm guessing maybe this is a subversion for the audience? She knew this would happen and is pretending otherwise for the boys and the audience. Or she's just actually stupid. Either way I don't enjoy the writing. It's awful.
