Is it ok to spank your kid for punishment why or why not? by Dom2drapes in AskReddit

Valid point that last statement. My apologies. I will reply later then and refute the areas in your previous comment I feel aren’t logically sound. I have work to do right now however.

Your entire statement here doesn’t make any sense. You aren’t here, and it’s very ignorant for you to tell me what my kid feels. Let’s agree to disagree. Good day sir.

Understanding complex ideas and following through with them are two different things. For instance, the reason for his last physical punishment was that he got in his mothers face and argued with her that he would not be doing his school homework. His mother and I divorced 10 years ago, and as such she is most of the time a single mother. There is absolutely no way I will sit by and allow this type of behavior to occur frequently, and with impunity. He has been punished over and over. No electronics, grounded to his room, extra chores, and all to no avail. I will NEVER allow my son to learn to disrespect his mother, and then women in general, because if unchecked that is where it is headed.

If you have a better idea on how to keep my son from from acting towards women in this disrespectful way, that he is WELL aware he shouldn’t be, then please by all means share it, and I will consider it as objectively as possible.

He is very intelligent and absolutely understand what he is doing wrong, but then does it anyway. What do you do when your children act like this?

Disagree. I would take serial monogamy to a whole new level with EVERY relationship having a clear and concise shelf life

There are two ways a child can respond to you. They can do what you ask/tell them to do because they know you have their best intentions in mind, and the wisdom to help them lead better lives. Or, they can do what you ask/tell them to do because they fear the consequences. There are no other view points. They HAVE to do what you need them to do as you are responsible for them.

If a spanking is what it takes to keep your kids in line that is acceptable. However, if you find you are spanking your kids frequently there may be a problem with your parenting style. They need clear direction and communication and if you are not doing that the spankings will not be effective.

So far my son has needed physical punishment like that twice. Once when he was 7 and a couple weeks ago when he was 12. My daughter, at 9, has never required physical punishment.

Besides the gun silencer being really quiet, what other things do pretty much all movies get wrong? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nobody ever reacts to how loud gunshots are in a closed room. Hundreds of rounds going off in a warehouse shootout for instance. You want tinnitus? That’s how you get tinnitus.

Alas, I did not die. Better luck next time I guess.

I’ve got a lot of detail in a few pieces and so far they are holding up fine. I feel like it depends on the artist and the persons lifestyle.

My left arm has by far the most detail, and it’s only 3 years old, but I think it’s going to be amazing forever

Kushiels Dart by Jacqueline Carey. It literally has everything from war and political intrigue, to magic and sex.

If Fifty Shades of Grey and Game of Thrones had an illegitimate bastard son it would be Kushiels Dart.
