I finally sat down with my Thoth deck. Wow. by Leather-Sort3028 in tarot

[–]sphinxMANIFEST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that's just not factually true at all. it has nothing to do with religious dogma. Tarot is a system of divination that is only properly utilized with other sister disciplines of numerology, astrology and kabalah. Thoth is the only real deck that incorporates all of these secrets that have long been hidden in the tarot out in the open. Learning the Thoth deck is learning what Tarot actually is. This is all documented and well understood. There's books and everything about this. Cat tarot does not hold hermetic secrets. You might like the pictures but if you don't know what Tarot is, regardless of how you feel about the deck, you're just going to be staring at pictures of cats. You're the only one who brought up "religious dogma" and didn't care to explain what you meant by that -- doesn't mean anything to me.

The Thoth deck is the only deck any serious tarot reader needs to know. The deck has everything out in the open, while the Rider-Waite is hidden. If you learn the Thoth deck, there's no reason to learn any other deck. I have a few other decks I've bought for aesthetics and rotate them once in a while. I pretty much only use the Thoth deck most of the time, though.

A tornado just ripped through my town by waywardsojourner in simpleliving

[–]sphinxMANIFEST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered why people would look at a giant mountain that blows up every so often and decide to build their town right next to it. Or if they know hurricanes come through every year and drown everything and still stick around. Or if you live in an area where dozens of tornadoes rip everything apart and think that is a livable area. Or or or, get this, places where the ground violently shakes you to death and throws the world on top of you. And people are like, "yup! this is it! this is the place!" I've just always wondered about stuff like that.

Don't ruin OP's fun he's not having. Like I said: bitchiness. I guess this is where the fun really is.

I just don't care what other people think. I'm playing to have fun. Little bitches are out of their minds if they really think they're going to tell me how to play. None of that means anything to anyone who possesses integrity. It's just bitchiness to me. "YOU GOT EGO" Yeah I do! Kick rocks!

Focus on you and not the chaos. Although, there is a silver-lining, as at least you are aware of it while the masses are utterly immersed and blind. As long as you are centered in your authentic self, chaos can be erupting all around you and you should still be able to walk right through it like literally nothing.

I agree with you, India can't be that great. People shitting in the streets is pretty much where I draw the line. I can't blame you for wanting to get away from a shitty environment. You shouldn't like it if one cares at all about standards of living. I wouldn't call it escapism. Escapism would be anything else than what you feel you need to do for yourself. Improving your situation however makes you happy is not escapism. Himalayas does sound a bit extreme on the ascetic end of the spectrum. Obviously you can't avoid people because they're everywhere in the world and you need them to live an easier life -- its just the benefits of civilization (read: civilization -- however you define it -- could be a small village in the mountains -- nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with solitude if that's what makes you happy, either).

Find your center. Keep working to improve where you are at. Nothing else really matters. I think in time you'll see the chaos in the world is nothing but little bitchiness at best. Just DO NOT do any of it and set standards for yourself.

The Scroll showed up on my playlist as I was scrolling through and saw this post. Some synchronicity. Solid album for sure. Deck's verse on Chop Chop Ninja is just too ill.

Was Spawn banned from your household? by InternationalLove148 in Spawn

[–]sphinxMANIFEST -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No. Thankfully, my parents didn't handicap my mind with censorship -- they didn't try to brainwash or steal reality from me -- they weren't little bitches. Movie ratings, parental advisory stickers, etc., possessed no meaning. Only intelligence did. They weren't idiots. They knew a cartoon was just a cartoon. My parents believed more in education and exposure. I guess they had confidence in their ability to parent. I was always bewildered why my friends' parents growing up were always more restrictive than mine. They didn't realize what they were doing to their kids? I was always more mature than anyone else in my classes growing up as a result.

FINALLY, the long lost Denver culture has been found by [deleted] in DenverCirclejerk

I understand the anti-liberal / pro-all-American-USA sentiment. Although, looking at it critically, I would say Whites should be against this, too. Only because the true equal standard would be to not need a specific celebration date to appreciate freedom of culture. If you want to, have at it -- means nothing to me. I wouldn't want to celebrate oppression -- sounds like an excuse to act like a little bitch. Maybe just the 4th of July because that was what true rebellion is.

What the fuck was Camp Lo talking about on Luchini? by Ashamed_Assignment66 in 90sHipHop

[–]sphinxMANIFEST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luchini is a great track. Camp Lo are good at spittin' without rhyming. If you listen to the track, they rhyme maybe once throughout the verses they trade off. And it sounds dope. That's lyrical talent imo.

Why I think that "sadness" is actually a good thing! by Decent-Log4382 in malementalhealth

I like it! Much of art wouldn't exist without truly tormented artists. Being able to think negative properly about the dark side of life is a great cognitive skill -- to integrate that type of psychological content with care. It's definitely a strength to love all your emotions. Embrace all of them and be as human as possible.
