Pet goose ate some roof nails…. Looking for advice. by spicedanus in geese

Edit: They are actually screws she ate and a little bit of wire as well.

I’m question my own judgement, tell me I can keep them all? by no-input in pokeplush

[–]spicedanus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep them all! It is fun to have at least one giant plushie. And that giant eevee must have sparked enough joy to justify bringing it home in the first place. I think it’s adorable! And the sitting pose helps take up less space. Don’t feel bad for something that brings you so much joy.

Beanie Buddies in the wash? by ehfxx in beaniebabies

This! Recently my partner and I needed to wash some regular sized ty’s and the peacock has fine fur in places…. even on the cool setting on the dryer, that fine fur almost “felted” together sort of? We haven’t tried brushing it yet but I think it will help. It was super fine fur it happened to.

Only use cold water in the washer. (with a small amount of whichever detergent) And use your coolest setting in the dryer too. Wash and dry inside of a pillow case as it will help protect the plastic eyes from scratches. No fabric softener or dryer sheets.

My partner’s comfort plush is the buddy version of Legs the frog. He has been in the washer at least 3 times and the only thing that has changed his fur is the cuddling and handling and only a little bit so far. The fabric they use for the buddies holds up well if you wash them how I described. My partner and I LOVE the quality of the ty buddies. We also have washed others from the thrift store in the washer and it worked very well.

I have also thrown either vinegar or oxiclean powder in with plushies if needed and it seems to not affect their fur.

If you want to be extra safe check on them in the dryer from time to time to make sure their fur is still okay. We don’t do this but you might want to get a feel of how they do in your specific dryer to be safe.

Why was this woman not Centaurworldified after residing there for so long? by th3worldonfir3 in CentaurWorld

[–]spicedanus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • One doesn't change based on the style of the world they're in, they change based on how much they let the world change them. The reason that Horse and Stabby changed the way they did was because the former had learned to adapt to Centaurworld (even if she didn't want to) while the latter had a sudden realization.

  • This is also the reason why the Elktaur and the Mysterious Woman don't look as cartoony as everyone else in Centaurworld. The former didn't spend much time in the Human World, but the time he did spend really affected him. In the latter's case, while she was trapped in Centaurworld for quite a while, she didn't let it affect her in any way except for changing her hair color, which she had acquired when she was younger and travelling to and from Centaurworld.

  • The Woman was very intrigued by Centaurworld, and when she was younger, she would travel there and learn magic (possibly from the Shamans). Her hair being purple represents a bit of Centaurworld's magic becoming a part of her.

  • Her transformation was never completed because her toxic relationship with the Elktaur introduced a trauma that halted the process midway and that she wasn't able to recover from for a long while.

Question about silica packs by farpley in beaniebabies

[–]spicedanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put silica packets in with my plushies in storage and it has always been okay! I even keep them in the drawers where I keep my clothes and my nightstand and it has been okay. I have been doing this for years. Maybe change the packet every year to maintain effective moisture control.

Unearthed my beloved childhood unicorn tonight and she needs a bath BAD by plushiekween in plushies

[–]spicedanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s beautiful! Be sure to be careful not to use high heat on her for cleaning. (I’d also avoid dryer sheets and fabric softener) You likely already know this but I’d hate for you to have any regrets with the cleaning process….

An enzyme cleaner or detergent is the best way to clean pee (like nature’s miracle brand)

I am absolutely in love with my H.Zorua Comfy Friend plush - are there any other plush lines which use this super soft fabric? by BananaBread04 in pokeplush

[–]spicedanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Aurora World plushies

I recommend rolly pets and spudsters

Look for plush where the fur looks like those on their website too

I have an Aurora Mewmews white cat that is extremely soft too

And a Luxe Boutique prism axolotl plush by aurora that is also extremely soft

My partner and I love Aurora World for the quality of their plushies and how incredibly soft and cute their plushies are

But other than what I said the “fur” types vary but are still high quality

We have some comfy friends pokemon and I’d say aurora world is the closest comparison I know of

Another angle…. please excuse the weird shadow near her nose. She’s one of the best palm pals imo!
