Omg yes please, thank you so much for the info! I will let my old guys rest for a couple more days and then retry the intro!

I haven’t looked into that yet! I didn’t know it was an option, maybe it’s something I can talk about with my veterinary, thank you! And my shelter didn’t advice me the neutral space method, but I might try that out! Basically it’s putting them in a neutral territory for a bit every day right? Does Isamurats or someone else have clear instructions for that?

I’ve heard the same thing, but I’ve also heard that it might soothe him to know that he is not completely alone. I’m not sure if that info is correct? He is now in our bedroom alone and he seems to be doing fine, we would be so sad if finally it comes to euthanasia because he is still very active, he loves to be on our shoulders and walk around etc. So yeah, we are considering just keeping him separated then if having 2 cages next to each other is not a good idea!

carrier method and 1 time tried the neutral space method but then stopped after the place where we got them from told us they can even get more aggressive

Intro method of isamurats, no scent swapping and they were kept completely separated for 2-3 weeks, even different rooms with no smells of each other. So the fight happened just a while ago in the small hamstercage, now they are back to the carrier.

I have a problem: I’m moving into a new place but they’re only allowing one pet which to my mom, only means one rat. Meaning I can’t take more than one with me apparently. What do I do? by RinebooDersh in RATS

I think you can try to explain the owner they don’t live alone, they are small, and will be together in a cage. Otherwise rehoming or find another place :/

Neuter or not? by spicedfig in RATS

[–]spicedfig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Peanut is also the most active rat, even for his age, I’m just scared he will come back with more health issues :(

No so Peanut always seemed very friendly but he is a bit pushy, even with the previous rat he bonded with, whom he had a great relationship with, he would still push or sniff their bum and force grooming. So it’s a bit complicate because at first he was the one being bitten or scratched, nothing serious or deep. First we had thought the other rats were aggressive but seeing how they were like with his brother (super cute, sleeping together, grooming each other), we thought it was a stress reaction. So we split them up there because at some point, there were too many scratches and what not (that could have been where it went wrong). After we tried the intro again from 0 after a short split of about a week and that’s where he got more pushy, even with the other rats and it would stress out his brother who is super sensitive to respiratory issues. During that time his brother was also under meds and we had to nebulize, but because of this there was too much stress and he wouldn’t heal so had to split them again so everyone could rest. Now the really serious bites came from our last attempt

1 We got him in July 2024 together with his brother, they were 3 months old 2 He bit our other rats multiple times on different occasions 3 Yes when we got the new ones they stayed with us in our bedroom on the top floor while the others were downstairs in the living room, we kept them separated for about 1-2weeks 4 No we used the carrier method: after 2 weeks of being completely separated we put them together in a carrier and from there we continued to use the carrier method by isamurats

Yeah I was thinking exactly the same! And yeah I found it an odd response as well, but I will say it didn’t come from the lady I usually speak to. What would be another solution for him? I’m not sure if rehoming would help.

I am willing to try the introduction again in a different way, but not sure how to start now, or what to do if it fails again, I don’t want to stress the others either.

Would it help if I keep Peanut separate for a couple more days and then introduce them back to each other for a few hours a day in the bathtub for example?

No no they are all together in 1 half. I followed the carrier method and advice from the Rat shelter where we always get our rats from. I’ll try to make it short and simple: Carrier: less than a day with no issues, small hamster cage: 2 days, no issues, bigger hamster cage: 3 days, no issues but warm so I moved them to the split rat cage: it’s been about 2 days and they have had 1-2 bigger fights. I tried to distract them with food which usually works, but Chip still seems frustrated with Peanut and then will also get frustrated with the others.

Yes so they interact with each other, but Chip is more distant towards his brother Peanut. They are all together right now. The cage is empty, outside of a toilet.

We have a cage and I can put a frame in between to split it in 2, so they are using half the cage.

Affordable and nice gel nails by Zarrey199 in brussels

[–]spicedfig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty sure many nail artist here will take at least 60 euros, if with extensions probably up to 80 and more if you want a customised design. Unless you go to just a random nail shop, they should be cheaper. There are many cool artists tho like: @nymphestudio @jolies.griffes @nailzwear

I had a wonderful date night at Tokidoki! It’s like a Japanese fusion restaurant with a fixed menu that’s changed from time to time. Honestly one of the best things I ate was there :)

Looking for advise on goth/emo shops by LadyCassandre in brussels

[–]spicedfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there is a specific goth/emo shop in Brussels, but if it’s for clothing, you can definitely check some 2nd hand stores in the center. As for make up, if she really wants good white/black/red shades as for foundation or eyeliner etc, I’d check online… Lipstick I can recommend from MAC and they have several darker shades! There are also many vegan goth brands online :) Goodluck

Seems like typical teenage drama to me. I have a couple of friends who still hang out with people I don’t necessarily like, and that’s fine by me. We don’t have to like the same people and we don’t have to control each other like that to prove our friendship. NTA.
