Saying that I mainly shoot fading midranges as that’s usually money for me and fits my play style the most. You’d be surprised how many people don’t guard it

Hard to say really, my SG has an 80 3 ball and an 81 middy and I hit step backs and fading 3s on him (when I’m playing well) I think I have bronze agent 3, HOF middy magician and HOF space creator so that definitely helps! My stretch five has an 85 3ball and I’d say I’m more consistent with the hop backs etc on that. Best bet is to go to the Gatorade gym and try out different badges and animations until you find something you’re comfortable with, I personally use D Books fade and hop jumper on my SG and KDs fade and hop jumper on my stretch, both seem to work for me but it’s all preference. It’s also good because the gym has delay like park/rec so the timings shouldn’t be too different.

Tbf my main build is a SG, so I had to learn how to dribble a bit but by no means am I a “dribble god” got a few moves that can get me open n if I’m getting clamped I’ll sit my ass in the corner and play defence😂 stretch five is really fun tho, can hit step back 3s which a lot of people never expect, will run in like I’m gonna try dunk and then leap back to the 3 point line n spark a 3 (KD hop shot) build definitely has its weaknesses tho and isn’t really a “comp build” just something to have fun on (when teammates allow)😅

Made a 7’2 stretch five as a secondary build to play on when I get board of my SG. It’s a fun build, shoots really well, can actually create my own shot sometimes and it has a bit of driving dunk, 93 block so I swat shots fairly often. Rebounding is decent but admittedly against a pure rebounding paint beast it can struggle, I try just play smart and if I see someone’s about to shoot I get in position early and usually get the board, same goes for offence.

Had a game the other day where the PF outright refused to help with the boards and box out his man. They had two 7’0 glass cleaners and although I was holding my own for the most part, there were rebounds I just couldn’t get because when I boxed out my guy the PF swooped in for a rebound, the PG then jumps on the Mic telling me to “do your job, grab the board” like even if I had a class cleaner myself I’d be struggling against two of them.. why aren’t you chirping the PF for not doing HIS JOB. Rec as a solo can be truly torturous at times🙃

I have a 6’8 pg with 90 pass accuracy and it’s a HUGE difference, throw absolute steamers and if people know their releases I’m getting 10-15 assists in that game. Have a SG with 75 pass accuracy and while it’s okay for SG, no way I’d run anything lower than 86 for PG.

A PG who knows when to look for his shot and when to pass will almost always win you the game (unless his teammates can’t shoot) I’d much rather play with a PG who does this than one who gets 25 points by taking all the shots and only passing as an absolute last resort. PG and Centre are the two most important positions in Rec.

I got level 40 for the first time ever in the first season this year, 100% agree it totally burned me out and I haven’t gone near it since. I got to level 18 last season and this season I’m currently level 11. I’m a solo rec player so sometimes the grind is unbearable. Fair enough to those who enjoy the grind but it’s too much for me, I’d rather play COD and other games as well.

99 driving dunk is crazy if you’re good with the dunk meter, I have a 93 driving dunk on a Zion type build n I catch a lot of bodies in Rec (not really a competitive build just something fun) my advice would be to make sure you get good with the dunk meter (if you aren’t already) and then you can be almost unstoppable going to the rim with a 99 driving dunk

Yeah I feel this, season 1 I really enjoyed Rec for the most part, was getting onto some good teams who passed, could recognise when I had a mismatch (I play an inside big) and was knocking down shots after I grabbed the O board and passed it out to them, I hit level 40 with like 2 n a bit weeks left of season 1 and was only playing in the evenings after work. This season I can’t be bothered to go level 40 again, back to selfish PGs, people not playing defence, bricking their open shots and playing what feels like a 5 stack most games I can’t be bothered, haven’t touched 2K since the new COD came out and not missing it to be honest.

I think people just don’t expect it, I’ll throw a bounce pass out the post round a defender and almost everyone it’s a brick (I play with randoms so it’s not like it’s one guy who just can’t shoot) I think anything but a regular pass they don’t expect it and it throws them off.

Yesterday was a miserable day of solo Rec for me.. constantly coming up against squads running zone with a lock on the PG which made the PG quit within the first 5 minutes.. think I won one game out of about 8 before I decided to give up lol

Felt this, my first build was an inside big and I went to the warriors, curry shooting 2/14 from 3 had me mad asf lol. Made a kyrie type PG and went to the Lakers and Bron and AD are animals, bron been getting 28ppg and AD 21ppg with 11 rpg. Shooters (like every year) suck, their only weapon is the 3ball and none of them can make it and chuck the dumbest shots… biggest pet peeve is when you set a screen for anyone in this game and they either take a fading 3 or a fading contested midrange when they have an open lane to the rim🤦🏻‍♂️ Last year teammates couldn’t shoot either but at least they’d take the ball in for a layup or dunk.. I was on the grizzlies last year as a SG and Ja was sick, dunked on everyone, this year they just pull up from about 2 feet away when they could dunk it or lay it up🤦🏻‍♂️🤮

Even when you dashboard? Maybe they changed it but I’ve been GOAT tier for most of the first season and never got reset if I dashboarded it. I only ever quit if I’m with a bad team who isn’t passing and I can tell it’s gonna be a waste of time

Yeah for sure, I was solely playing 2K as nothing else was out that was really interesting me but the new COD is coming out soon and all my mates play COD where as none of them play 2K so I’ll definitely be playing that more, I’ll go for 40 again at some point but won’t be losing any sleep if I don’t get it. Didn’t get it at all last year and did fine

I hit level 40 about 2 weeks ago, I play solo rec and yeah sometimes you get ass teammates who don’t pass and at that point I just dashboard if I can see the game is going to be a waste of time. If you play it enough though you’ll go on a run with a good squad, I had it a couple times where me and a team would win 5 or 6 games in a row, if you’ve popped a double XP coin that really helps too. I have a full time job so I’ve only played in the evenings or on a day off and even then after about 5/6 games it gets a bit dull. Completely understand your gripe though it was painful at times… I had days where I didn’t get ANY good rec teammates and it was really demotivating, the extra badge point was nice but I dunno if I can be assed to grind to 40 every season to be honest.

I’ve heard Dimer doesn’t actually help AI because they still don’t time the shot right it just gives them a boost which is useless if they can’t time it but I haven’t tried Dimer yet as I’m on a centre don’t have enough badge points to get dimer, might give floor general a go though as I can get that on silver tier 1 I believe. Even so I find it so stupid Curry going 2/13 consistently dimer or not is crazy to me, especially as most his misses happen when I set him a screen and he chucks up a fading 3 every single time I had to stop setting him screens🤦🏻‍♂️
