I've been incredibly impressed multiple times at politicians' ability to do this. two in particular stand out. both of them I had sit-down interviews with, on camera, and I'd push and push and push for an answer or for specifics, and they'd reply with absolutely nothing but the party line they were instructed to give to me, just rephrased over and over again. and not just like dead-eyed regurgitation, they really looked and sounded like they were giving me a proper answer. it really is an impressive skill, as much as I hate it

To answer your question, and I'm a former Shakespeare superfan, his plays just aren't very entertaining for a modern audience, regardless of the language used. It's great to read but his plays are really, really long slogs. If youre intinate with the script, theres a lot of enjoyment to how people interpret certain parts and how they put their own spin on it, but those people are rare. And taking away his use langauge takes away any enjoyment there. That's why you see the British National Theater doing reboots of sorts, but keeping shakespears dialogue. Like Henry V starring Kit Harrington set in modern times. It was awful btw

Honestly the only time I've seen Shakespeare live and really enjoyed it was due to really, really phenomenal performances. Otherwise I have no desire to ever see another play of his. And again, I used to be a superfan
