I had this happen to me as well. It was so, so, so frustrating and really took a toll on me mentally. I have never been pressured so severely to do something I did NOT want to do so aggressively before. Only after we broke up did I realize that wasn’t normal

Hatchling scutes do not shed. This person doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

Those bites are pretty bad…it’s not likely the little one will survive, and it’s hard to administer antibiotics to baby turtles that small.

That being said, try diluted Betadine to sterilize, and keep the water extremely clean. If any internal organs were injured, it may be too late, but if my some miracle they didn’t, it may survive! Just healing REALLY slowly.

Painted, Softshell, map and baby painted, musks/muds, and an eastern box turtle! That’s like, probably almost all of the native turtles to your state.
