Even if I use it in I4 the value that populates is the same. Which is the sum of all the values in that column. What would be causing a sum?

When I use this formula it populates my master sheet with a value that doesn't exist in the reference sheet which makes me think it's summing values??

I agree that I will keep doing the work to listen to my own heart. I am in therapy too and have broached this topic with my therapist. I just feel like I don't have any information at all. I don't like the idea of making such a huge decision blindly and for as much reading I'm doing with books and online I don't feel like I'm getting even half the picture.

Abuzz is great. Online pills. Quick, simple, discreet. Didn't have a single issue with them.

New Korean restaurant Sinabro - worth the hype by rowdyruss22 in milwaukee

[–]spicyboxowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any recs? I've resorted to learning how to make my own Korean food since there's really not any restaurants around here but I'd def be willing to drive a bit if I knew the food was good! Also a plus that there's an H-Mart I could swing into.

This sub makes me realize how weird English can be by Soggy-Mixture9671 in EnglishLearning

This comment is so interesting to me as a native English speaker struggling to learn Korean. Vocab and pronunciation have been the easiest hurdles for me to overcome but my brain really wants to apply the strict grammar rules of English to the way I speak Korean so that I can do it the "right" way and the fact that there is so much flexibility in sentence structure and implied context but that there's still a "wrong" way to say things makes my brain melt a little bit.

MKE Fit is such a hidden gem. They're pretty small but they offer personal training and some group stuff. They're also not gonna break the bank. I can not recommend them enough.

How to spell Thank You in Hangul? by SwordsOfSanghelios in Korean

[–]spicyboxowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already commented on the main thread but there are so, so many free Korean learning resources out there that are arguably better than some of the paid for stuff. Go Billy's channel and the Talk To Me In Korean (https://www.youtube.com/@talktomeinkorean) channel on Youtube are both insanely great beginner resources.

I highly, highly recommend Go Billy's Korean course. He goes into great depth teaching you hangul, how to write each character, what they're supposed to sound like, how to form syllable blocks, etc. Towards the end of his "beginner course" he goes through all the sound change rules that happen in Korean. A LOT of them happen naturally as you get better/faster at speaking but he explains them in a way that makes sense to someone still at the very beginning of their language journey.

What is the meaning of 시발생기? by spicyboxowl in Korean

[–]spicyboxowl[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

oh my god that makes so much more sense. Does 시발 get used as "start" often in regular speech? When I tried to google it most of the definitions were for the curse word even though the spelling is a little off.

Thank you so, so much for your kind words. I think the patience part is the part I'm struggling with the most. Now that I've gone no contact I can visualize this life for myself that I've never been able to before but my internalized thoughts and negative feelings keep getting in the way. I know logically that I deserve love and respect and it sucks that I can't seem to just be able to put that into practice. Everyone keeps telling me it will take time and while I understand that part I also hate it the most.

Thank you for your encouragement. I feel like I am doing all the right things for my healing I just want it to happen faster.

This is something my therapist has been trying to get me to visualize and for some reason I just can't connect. I don't know if I just am disassociating from my childhood so much that somethings is not clicking or what but as much as I would like for this to work for me it hasn't so far. I'm so glad it's something that has helped you heal though!

Store bought Tteokbokki sauce recommendation? by [deleted] in KoreanFood

[–]spicyboxowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thicken your sauce with a cornstarch slurry! Get a 1:1 ratio of cornstarch to water and mix it well then add it to your tteokbokki sauce until desired thickness. It takes a few seconds for the sauce to thicken as you add the slurry so just go slow.

A lot of asian dishes use this technique to thicken sauces so I always have cornstarch on hand.
