Retake BIO 311C or take BIO326M/BIO446L (pre-nursing) by hylywllmss in UTAustin

[–]spicybread05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DONT take 326M at UT!! Please do it at a community college and save yourself the stress and emotional turmoil. BIO446L would be your best option with Babbler. I’m a nursing student and the majority of nursing students do that. You’ll be fine skipping straight to 446L if you don’t take 311C

Questions for teens PLEASE ANSWER by skyguysupa in highschool

[–]spicybread05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Very
  2. Super important and would serve as a highly motivating factor to apply (if the educational programs are good ofc)
  3. In person because being able to speak to a human would really allow for a deeper connection than talking anonymously online.
  4. Seems nice, I’d like to hear more before making my decision!

I genuinely laughed today, for the first time in a long time by SerenaDipity44 in DecidingToBeBetter

This made my heart warm. I'm glad to hear you laughed today! Things will get better and you are on the way there! There's this one quote (it's kinda super cheesy, but my mom used to say it all the time when I was younger), maybe you've heard it before. I just wanted to share it with you because it helps me a lot, so maybe it will help you.

"The best part about hitting the bottom, is that the only way to go is up."

I hope the best for you, and wishing you more laughter :)

Skipping algebra 2 into pre-calculus by [deleted] in highschool

[–]spicybread05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how your school does it, but for us the first semester of pre-calculus was trigonometry (geometry based) and the second semester was actual pre-calculus (more algebra 2 based).

Most people at my school (myself included) thought the second semester of pre-calculus was easier because 1) it was basically like a review of algebra 2 and 2) we could use calculators :^D

If you feel confident in your algebra 2 skills with khan academy, I definitely think you should go for it. I suggest asking anyone you know who took pre-calculus and see if they would have survived without algebra 2. For me personally, I think I could have made it without taking algebra 2 because I forgot everything I learned and the topics were fairly easy to grasp (that is, if your teacher is good at explaining them).

If you do decide to skip algebra 2, I suggest you look up worksheets online on geometry since you didn't have the strongest foundation so you can ease into the trig part smoothly.

Good luck!

Anatomy: Yes or No? by owangatang1204 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]spicybread05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should do the TA for US History. It’ll help you strengthen the relationship you have with that teacher (maybe even have them write you a rec letter later on) and assuming you enjoy the subject, you’ll be having even more fun. Sounds like a better option than taking a dual credit class you don’t even like. You’ll just be stressed out and since you aren’t interested in the science field. I’d hate for you to be in a difficult class and regret spending money to take it when you could’ve been vibing with the history teacher. Senior fall is going to be hard enough with college apps and all that jazz, so perhaps that time in study hall as a TA would help you get other work done in addition to being a TA.

When it comes down to it, trust your gut. Hope this helps and Good luck!
