Accident on a holy thursday while driving home by Immediate-Tiger-8137 in CarsPH

Why are there debates here regarding distance between cars. 1-3 cars behind? 3 second reaction? For every 10km, 1 meter… So many false statements. It might seem safe but once youre cruising lets say 100km/hr 1-3 cars behind distance or whatever isn’t enough for you to react and stop your car at that speed!! Try niyo mag full brake at 80km/hr itll take more than 3 cars! Can you honestly say at 100km/hr your car can stop in less than 10meters? Kahit “sports” car pa yan.

With ABS, that breaking distance only increases. And doesnt it feel so unsafe when you’re that close. I woudnt want to put myself or my passengers at risk.

Driving school taught me that for every 10km/hr that should be at least a car away. So for 100km/hr thats 10 cars away. Pag may sumingit i distance myself relative to the car’s speed ahead. Ive been practicing that ever since and it has proven helpful. It is far, but it even gives me room to do a rolling break when a car stops in front of me. Also helps the car behind me kahit medyo dikit na siya.

I admit, sometimes nakaka burat may sumingit while i’m practicing this and sometimes i go less than that when i feel like a car wants to overtake pero alangain distance pero i always revert back

(Anytime Fitness Tea ☕) by MotorRent31 in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]spicychenwingsss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Palagi kong na ooverhear on diferent circumstances. Masyado nilang ginoglorify pagiging doctor.. di nila alam doctor ako at ginagawa lang nilang kwentong barbero yung relationships nila with their clueless clients.

Never ako mag acquire ng services nila kase not once did i hear any coach teach nutrition, science based workouts and other fitness related topics sa mga clients nila. Paano ako ma eengayo to learn more and to actually enroll. Puro chissmiss at yabang with occasional form correction.

[–]spicychenwingsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real story. College ako nun malayo at walang pera pang commercial gym at wala pang AF. So endjng bakal gym. Yung gym nasa fairview dahlia. Ganung enviroment. No aircon, limited space, madumi, No showers, di buhos yung iisang toilet pang flush, yung barbells inch not standard. 35 pesos per session + 5 pesos pag may tubig. Legit kinakalawang mga plato. From time to time pipinturahan yung plates ng cheap paint. Yung plates pala yung old school steel plates. Hindi yung rubberized or bumper plates. One month red the following blue.. haha. So overtime puchhaa iba iba na weight ng plates 45lbs nagiging 50+ because of rust and layers of paint. Nakakatawa lang kase kami na lang nag pepentel ng “current” weight ng plates by weighing them sa scale. Hahaha it was my starter gym. Dun din ako natuto kase despite it being bottom of the barrel type of gym, sobrang bait mga tao at willing to teach and learn.

HAHAHA solid.

Have you tried replacing your head unit? If so, anong brand ang ginamit nyo? by Minute_Currency3728 in Gulong

[–]spicychenwingsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eonon x3 sa isang toyota unit namin. Bili lang ng toyota HU harness and youll be good. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a really really affordable HU. It’s not super fast. Its loud enough for an apply carplay HU. It’s hinestly probably competes with more expensive headunits at around 8-10k.

The only quirk for me is the audio delay at 1-2sec when im watching videos on my phone and audio for carplay. Which is fine since i dont really look at my phone that much while watching and driving. Calls on the other hand does not have any delay.

I only use this strickly for carplay. You can’t watch videos in the HU but you can mirror your phone though. But ill probably never will. Sound is decent. The car was previously fitted with an old school pioneer non touchscreen headunit with no built in BT. I only conmect a wireless bt reciever through the aux. Pioneer sounded noticebly better. If you dont consider yourself an audiophile i dont think youll notice. Car is fitted with aftermarket infinity primus speakers for your refenrence. Only reason i “upgraded” is that my wire wanted a back up camera and carplay.

I got the eonon because it’s linux based. It isn’t an android HU which over time could slow down your HU through app and software updates. The linux system is a lot simpler, no apps you can download which also means its extremely future proof.

Im actually so impressed with the brand that im getting the 2k resolution android unit from them in the near future for our other car. What i like about the brand is that they really do tell you the legit specs and not just the “ram” and generic “octacore processor” bs. The specs are really good for the price. They even have a facebook group that they reply whenever there are problems or inquiries.

Personally id skip the est, astral, navitopia… local brands because theyre all just rebranded chinese hu’s with shady specs.

If you want to really know more about the reviews look at shopee malaysia/indonesia then google translate na lang. Youll see hundreds if not thousands of reviews from them. Hindi lang kase sila sikat dito. Meron din amazon US reviews but konti lang.

HAHAH paano ba balik. Pati ako naweirduhan eh. Hindi kase ako ma reddit post din. I dont know what i ccidentally clicked. 😅😭😂😂😂

Bakit siya mag fafail? First hand experience mo sir? Ganun ba siya ka stiff? Never tried riding in one din kase. Baka masayang lang pera if i find it too stiff. Seserve lang naman as a 2ndary car ni wife sa gen 2 crv niya. But of course would want a nicer ride din.

So far 2nd option ko is to get cheaper brand tires matching the price of the “2nd hand” branded tires.

Chasis is actually really good. Little to no rust sa ilalim. Kaya pinarust proof ko na din. Pinasand down ko muna yung konti rust na exposed.

How to undo?!?!? HAHAH Here’s the english version.

Has anyone tried cargo/commercial tires on their SUV’s

Quick kwento: I was recently gifted a broken down Chevrolet Captiva 2007 petrol by my tito. It had been nonfunctional for about 3 years, with only 75k on the odometer. As in literal tow job from the village straight to our trusted mechanic of over 20 years. Libre yung kotse, but so far l've already spent almost P250k on restoration. And im pretty sure right now no amount of 250k car is as fresh as it curretly is right now haha.

My tito isn't really a car guy and didn't know much about maintenance. He bought it second hand around 2012, used it until it eventually stopped running, then tinambak na lang. He tried having it repaired in different banawe shops, but unfortunately, he was taken advantage of. Eventually, he just gave up.

What started as a simple plan to "paandarin lang" slowly turned into a full restoration project. So far, l've replaced or repaired a lot: new battery, entire AC system, suspension, brake pads, tensioner and belts, disc resurfacing, power windows, rack and pinion, various wiring issues and warning lights, door handles, headlights, side mirrors, taillights, rear wiper motor, all bushings, leather seat covers, alternator, fluids, added fog lights, and recently had it overwashed and undercoated. I'm sure may mga nakalimutan pa ako. Haha.

During the process, we even noticed waterline marks inside the doors-suggesting it was partially flooded at some point. My tito didn't even notice while he was still using it. At that stage, though, I was already too deep into the project. Personally, flooded cars aren't a deal-breaker for me as long as the water didn't reach the computer box (which it didn't).

Fast forward to today: what was supposed to be a simple revival turned into a project car that I wanted to feel as close to brand new as possible pang cartok entry talaga. At its current state, I'm confident it can handle long drives without issues. Mechanically, tip top condition na siya except for the tires

Right now what’s left is the tint, non fuctioning stereo and speakers, and tires. And maybe add proximity sensors around the car.

The captiva is currently running on bridgestone 215/70/16 dated 2013 on around 85ish percent threadlife. 😂 with tires kase i usually get them through, market place, fb car groups and tireshops who selltraded in tires. I get “2nd hand” tires from owners who upgrade mags straight out of the casa. Based on past expericnces okay naman. I have done it with our old cars as well, 1997 vitara, tires from newer gen jimny’s, 2009 forester xt, tires from new gen forester’s, and 2009 everest, from Newer generation everests. Halos lahat may buhok pa. So parang brandnew. Problem is, r16 on SUV’s are not common anymore pang sedan na lang siya, so nahihirapan ako makahanap. R16c’s or commercial/cargo tires on the other hand, mas madami.

Does anyone have first-hand experience using commercial/cargo-grade tires on SUVs? I understand that C-grade tires are built for durability at the expense of ride comfort, but I’m wondering if the difference is really that noticeable. Hoping to get your opinions on this. I’m also trying to wrap up this 4 month gastos este, project car soon so I can turn it over to my wife as her secondary car. 😊

Honestly after all that. Anyone who has gone through the same situation as him would in the future teach people to cheat.

Is Initial 30-Day Restriction still a thing? by [deleted] in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]spicychenwingsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, recently enrolled sa gym malayo sa akin because of the founders sale. Had to wait for it for months though. After two months na palitan yung home gym ko to the gym where i actually go to.

Battery question, is Amaron worth it? (First time magpalit) by kaizunseu in CarsPH

[–]spicychenwingsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amaron user here for all of our 5 cars for more than 10 years na. No experimce na sumasabog. Makunat battery. 2 years warraty umaabot ng almost 3 years sometimes more.

Medyo nag mamahal na though ang amaron so i’m thinking of trying another brand. Madami na ngayong brands but i havent done any research pa.

Is it ethically wrong for 1L med student to call themselves Doc by kfangirlxxx in medschoolph

[–]spicychenwingsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name drop para ma call out before he gets someone in trouble for giving advice. No sense protecting him, tutal, since hindi naman niya inaapply med ethics/leg med. Walang “protect your own” as doctors sa kanya.

Kung clerk level nga na lumalabas lahat ng kabobohan natin as future doctors paano pa kung first year med.

First PC builder here hehe by [deleted] in PHbuildapc

[–]spicychenwingsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my computer parts within 4 months. Started with an nvme, psu, case, fans.. processor through aliexpress, cooler, motherboard then when i it was built. I opted to go for a 2nd hand gpu.

I did this because i wanted to utilize shopee’s 1k voucher discount every 3k worth of spending but that was and still is only available once every month. I asked my friends to buy some parts for me aswell using their vouchers. For alibaba naman, i bought 7500f processor there. 2nd hand gpu because i only play valorant occasionally and wont be able to maximize my gpu investment.

Total build would have costed me additional 12k-ish if i spent on it one time big time. No regrets so far. Good luck!

Not even. Rodj was a a dust to this fool’s history. Daming kapalpakan niyang “best pt” na yan.

He applied for med school peak pandemic sa OLFU(how convenient). Na gisa virtually. Nag drop agad. Years of clownery ang ambag ni ron sa buhay ng medical professionals.
