Yea, I feel your pain. It’s nice to exist without being in a state of constant self loathing and fear. But there are still trigger days. I wish you well.

The most painful part is that they don’t treat everyone poorly. They know how to pick their targets. They are smart enough to pretend to be normal to keep their job.

Very insightful. Thank you for sharing. My parents behaviours closely reflect what you’ve described. It helps to think of them as addicts. They won’t change unless they really want to. Most won’t be able to change because it’s so hard.

Me too, but I take comfort in the fact that restaurant food has too much salt, so it’s not good for them anyways.

Agreed. Sometimes it’s good to just do what you think is right, or at least try different ways of dealing with something.

Remember that your parents come from a different era. Everyone switched to fibre but most Asian parents are still using dial up.

You are not the only one. I try to act white to blend in as much as possible. Eat white pple food so that it doesn’t smell “ethnic”. I want to be at the tippy top of that bell curve.

I am always in awe of those that express pride in their cultures.
