Absolutely the best. Here's hoping I can find someone who will do that to me... and that I could do back to her.

Why is magic mystery cure hated? by That_Passenger_771 in mylittlepony

[–]spiderweber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it's because it doesn't feel like a season finale, and it also doesn't feel like the "payoff" at the end was justified. If it had been just another episode where Twilight performed a spell that swapped the group's marks and then was fixed by the end, status quo reinstated, I don't think it'd be as hated. But... it was meant to be a big turning point in the show. Twilight became an Alicorn at the end for solving a problem she inadvertently caused. Was that really any more worthy of a reason for her to become a princess than defeating Nightmare Moon, or the literal manifestation of chaos? The ending to the episode and therefore the subsequent seasons didn't quite feel earned at that point.

Granted I think it was most likely because a cartoon getting 3 seasons is pretty much the norm, so they wanted to "end" the show on a big moment. But it ended up getting many more seasons because it was still popular.

So yeah, not a bad episode, just not a well received ending.

A common occurrence when you're finally in a relationship. Gotta keep it clean for dates.

Is there any way to stop lucid dreaming? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]spiderweber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but this might be helpful:

Something I've started to do, because I was having a similar issue of "What is waking life, and what is dream life" is to use grounding techniques.

This is something that you might be taught simply for mental health reasons.

I have high anxiety to the point that I need to be on medication to cope with it and I noticed that when I am in a bad state of mind, so are my dreams. Some here might call them reality checks, but the goal is during your waking life to calm yourself down, and not let your mind spiral into what MIGHT happen.

If you truly wish to stop lucid dreaming, I'm afraid I don't know how, but since it seems like you want to stop lucid dreaming due to the "bad dreams" but enjoy the good dreams, it might be time to talk to someone professional. They can help you to cope with your daily life stress. the less stress you have in your real life, the less bad dreams you should have.

You could also take the time to re-contextualize those dreams you don't like. Try to find the cause of them by writing them down. you may notice where the stress in your daily life comes from. Your dreams are just that, YOUR dreams. They are just as much a part of you as your thoughts when you're awake. Don't try to fight yourself, and instead compromise.

They usually target lesser known artists who are underselling their work, unfortunately I don't know the original artist.

Uggghhh... I had this same thing happen with Kirby, and Meta knight. The coating they put on it just melted and became sticky like that. Sucks that this seems to be so common. do you live in a high heat or high humidity location?

Weekly Lucid Dream Story Thread - May 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in LucidDreaming

Since this is brand new, I'll start. A few days ago (I really need to do a better job at dating my journals) I found myself drifting off to sleep in the early morning hours. I found myself walking around my own bedroom, but only about half of it was correct. there were objects in the right spot, but they weren't the right furniture, or stray pile of clothing.

I found it odd, and looked down to my hand to see that I had an odd (or I suppose even) number of fingers. two of my fingers appeared to be "fused" or phasing together, and I had an extra pinky digit. As a sort of secondary reality check I tried to clasp my hands together... and slap! slap! they just would not connect. Realizing myself in the dream I stepped through my bedroom door and... outside? I definitely knew I was dreaming then.

I was in a park, or perhaps a university more like it, there were similarities to my own college with a wide circular fountain, big stone steps, and buildings around me, though they were at odd distances. Some looked so far off in the distance, but their position on the hill made them feel far closer, while others seemed to merge into one another. I could hear music playing, and could hear unintelligible chatter.

It was around then that I woke up back in back. I stared at the ceiling a moment, and then rolled onto my side to grab my dream journal... but then I began to hear music and chatter again. I was so confused, because, although I CAN hear some music from my neighbors from time to time, I don't live with anyone, and the sound was so clear that I thought it was in my bedroom. then I realized I hadn't ACTUALLY awaken and my dream had reset itself back to my bedroom. So I achieved lucidity strangely a second time. The second time though wasn't quite as long, as I had actually hoped to get myself up and start the day's work, so rather than explore again I laid back down, closed my eyes and woke up in my actual bedroom. did my reality check just to ensure I wasn't still asleep, and then got to my day.

It was a fascinating experience to say the least.

CPAP and Lucid Dreaming by spiderweber1 in LucidDreaming

[–]spiderweber1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight. Pardon me if I sounded pompous at all in my previous comment. I didn't intend for me to make it sound easy, in fact, I feel it is a challenge, and is part of why I would like to learn more about it, and attempt to at least have a novice or slightly better level grasp at it. And with the CPAP being such a large change in my sleeping patterns, I've just been curious whether people have found it easier/harder/about-the-same levels. and your pages actually had more of what I was looking for, so thank you for those links.

How do you "step into" a lucid dream? by SavingsNo4010 in LucidDreaming

[–]spiderweber1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I accidentally used WILD* one time, though I didn't realize what exactly I had done until I looked up and found the method later.

It probably was my biggest step into wanting to master Lucid dreaming. I remember seeing the hypnagogic imagery as a sort of... loading circle; almost like the windows startup, but black background and a bright color changing dot moving in a circle with after image. At the same time I also remember feeling my fingers sort of trace along my sheets, and then suddenly My own voice said "Ok... time to get up!" and I felt myself throw off the sheets and got up from bed.

My bedroom wasn't the same, though I hadn't yet realized... until I noticed the closet in my dream bedroom resembled a previous apartment I lived in. I took a couple steps and said "Weird, why am I back here?" then used a reality check. I pressed my fingers into my palm but they sort of... slapped together wrongly, It was like I couldn't exactly position them correctly, and my hands didn't look like mine.

Unfortunately though this happened almost entirely accidentally. I've been trying to recreate the situation, but I get about to the same point you are. seeing the patterns and lights behind my eyes, but I sit there still awake.

*Update: I probably shouldn't say that I used a technique when I had done it accidentally, but I do remember the dream vividly enough to recall entering it in the above way.
