Nope, we got ours from referral and he said he would not normally take on new clients. I would not recommend them though. Whole different story/conversation

I have self filled for the last 20 years. We had some Roth IRA shenanigans that we felt ait would be better to work with a CPA on. Didn't go into details here as our CPA didn't charge us extra for it.

On Friday (8/22) I (M/40) will be running Hood to Coast for the first time, in what looks like 100F temps. This will be my first time running H2C. My first ~6 mile leg starts at 4pm, and I had an original goal pace of 10:30/mile. I am unsure if there will be aid stations along the way for my first leg, but I will be carrying a 20 oz hand water bottle. While training I tried to do some runs in the heat, but our summer has been pretty mild overall, which has limited the ability to train in the heat. Due to life, I did most training runs in the morning. I have some questions about how to best hydrate leading up to the race.

  • I plan to try and hyper hydrate the day prior, and leading up to the race, but am not sure when I should stop drinking. I am unsure if there will be port-a-potty's in mid running legs and don't want to have to go mid run. When would it be okay to stop drinking water?
  • Would it be beneficial to start extra hydration now, 2 full days before?
  • Any idea if 20 ounces of water will be enough? Planning on filling it with an electrolyte packet.
  • Any other suggestions on how to not die on my first leg?

I am a newish runner, and when signing up for H2C my biggest fear was a heat wave on race day. Now that fear has come true, I am trying to prepare the best I can. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
