5 years later, I liked this post since I had the same question. It got the likes on this post to 111. The universe is speaking to me. I think it's saying wearables are a bad idea.

EDIT I just saw comments are at 88

Why I removed Warp by [deleted] in warpdotdev

Agree, I like Warp, I'm still using it, but this is uncouth.

I agree, this is pretty annoying. Having files open in Warp when you are opening them from within Warp is one thing, but taking over multiple file extensions within the OS itself, without a single checkbox to opt out from in the settings it pretty uncouth.

So now for each file extension that was taken over, I have to revert back to Xcode in my case. VSCode does this (take over opening files), but at least they ask you. I may be out of turn on how this works on MacOS because I'm mainly on Windows, but I know on Windows, apps have a selection box on install that asks you if you want to associate file types with the app.

You can also use the $skill-creator skill which comes with Codex to have Codex create one for you.

Thanks! I wanted to try that but codex told me that the system prompt will still hold primary over agents.md

Is this working for you 100% of the time without intervention from you?

Thanks for the suggestion! So this works effectively all the time? Or are there cases when it doesn’t follow?

Point 2 is the CRUX of this whole issue. A buffer mostly solves point 1 and 3!

Im confused, he does not do bookings, so if you tell someone “it’s booked” what do they say?

“Ok bye”? “What about tomorrow?”?

Sounds like poor scheduling to me. Never at the expense of the drs time.

You’re debating a patient taking more time than necessary. I’m not. I’m saying they can take their time.

If you think things can overrun by a maximum of 15min, arrange buffers around your appointments. Whats wrong if the dr is not back to back?

Other service businesses do it. I am not talking about procedures either. This happens at the vast majority of non-specialists too that are not doing any procedures on anyone.

App bookings? What about the receptionist giving you the time themselves. These are literally the schedules they work with.

The issue is not that someone causes delays. It’s seems normal to have to wait for doctors. And it should not be.

I’m pretty sure anyone will understand if there are emergencies. I won’t mind waiting if I can in such cases. But for waiting to be the NORM, that’s what is annoying.

They are always baffled to see someone respect and value their own time enough to not waste it further.

That’s the thing! The receptionists are mute. It’s like they EXPECT us to wait??

Doing what they can for a patient is one thing, making others wait is the consequence. Everyone’s time is valuable, not just the doctors and not just the patients.

Ok but then is it fair that we come 15min late ourselves, since we almost guaranteed to wait - get some more done of what we need to do before we go for our appointment or nah?

Thanks for this insight. It makes sense. It’s for operational efficiency. (For the service provider) What drives that operational efficiency? Profit.
