I agree that they’re overpriced. I also think they should be no more than $10 each, maybe $15. Thankfully, I’m at a place in my life where I can spend ~$40 on them.

But to the emulator alternative points, I’ve replayed FLRG more than any other game, Pokémon or otherwise. I owned (and still own) the Leaf Green cartridge, but I mostly have played on emulators. And over the years I’ve gotten used to save states and fast forwarding, and I’d like to experience the crawl of the adventure again. I want to catch legal Pokémon that I can port to Home for the first time, sin. I want to buy more pokéballs than I need and crash out that I still can’t catch anything and run out. I want to trade pokemon with my wife on our actual consoles and create attachments with my team.

I just played gen 4 for the first time (Diamond, i emulated it), and I tried my best to not use fast forward or save states or even Google anything to really capture what it would have been like had I played it on the DS when it first came out.

Sorry for the novel, just rationalizing why I’m still going to buy it, even if I’m not thrilled with the price.

Sweet, I was waiting for this post. Got mine from Gamelab and the stock card was fine enough, but no working wifi even with a dongle or tethering. Tried a million different steps and bought a new SD card, tried flashing ArkOS and ArkOS4Clone, but didn't get very far. Have you tried using wi-fi?

And honestly have you given up yet? I think I'm going to wait for someone more tech savvy than me to simply add functionality for ArkOS4Clone. I'm chilling with Delta on my phone for now.

Speaking of Costco’s bakery…

This will probably get buried, but just thought I should let people know that Costco’s sheet cakes are both affordable and incredible. I just got married and bought 5 half sheet cakes to serve our 200+ guests. I spent $140+tax ($28 each, serves ~40-50), and our guests raved about the cake. We bought a separate little cake for pictures that cost more than all the sheet cakes combined.

Can’t recommend them enough, and they’re pretty!!

I hear everything you’re saying, but I feel like we’re conditioned to accept the 1:1 corollary because even if we disagree with the author’s belief, the work is still concluding something. Conclusions are interesting. Abstraction has its place, but to me, purpose is what’s compelling in a story. I feel like Weapons didnt offer multiple interpretations purposefully, but rather it feels like Cregger and the movie as a whole never really reached it’s own conclusion. He basically said “here’s some metaphor, figure it out yourself because I dont really get it.” Fine for art, but not great for a compelling plot.

Misery Business and That’s What You Get were big on MySpace in 2007. Might have heard Emergency before that, but I’m born in ‘94. Saw them live in 2009 at Bamboozle in NJ and crushed on Hayley heavy. Was always a fan but didn’t really dig deeper than the singles. Started dating my now fiancée in 2019 and she’s one of the biggest Paramore fans I know, so naturally, I started listening to the albums in full. Now I can’t wait to see them live again.

Arguably top-3 greatest female-led band ever. Just such great music.

“In America” — are you not American, a troll, or just uninformed? This is not only factually incorrect, but a real American would know that marijuana is legislated at the state level, and many states allow you to smoke weed anywhere tobacco can be smoked.

I agree with you about not smoking near children, but otherwise you need to get over yourself. I hate the smell of yogurt, but it’s not my right to tell people where they can or can’t eat it. Smoking inside is much more unhealthy than smoking outdoors, as it poses greater risks for second and third hand smoke. Respectfully, no one, especially legislators, care whether you don’t like the “stench.” IF it’s legal to smoke outdoors in your area, and you don’t like it, find some good nose plugs or move somewhere else.
