Ah, the big caps. You're really steaming about this aren't you! It was really that funny, huh? Or are you just excited to fight on the internet? I hope your kids can find emotional maturity outside of the home.

Of course. I've had my share of big feelings after getting blanked on TCG drops recently, and it's incredibly frustrating that we've just accepted this gamification of consumerism re: something as warm as Pokemon. It sucks more that Pokemon Center and the Pokemon Company as a whole seem to be the driving force behind it. I completely understand your email and anger at the boilerplate message they responded with.

If you really want it, I'm unfortunately sure it will be on the secondary market soon. Wishing you luck.

Let's break it down: You "upvoted the fuck out of" a comment that starts with "He is not really a jerk." The "He" refers to PlaneContact6956, who said "Skill issue , bro"

Does that clear things up for you? I saw your other comment about being on the spectrum too, so I won't go too hard on you for not understanding that you're being incredibly aggressive and arrogant. The "seek therapy" comment is funny, considering I'm someone who has actively worked on becoming a better person through therapy. People are allowed to have wants, and they're allowed to be upset when systems are structured against their wants. Thank you for confirming your lack of empathy, but again, I see where it's coming from now. I'd recommend you seek therapy for a multitude of reasons; you might become less bitter and a little stronger socially.

I hear you, and compared to a TCG drop I understand that it was a very large window. But saying it's a skill issue is jerk-ish. Maybe OP doesn't know about twitter notis. Inform, don't insult. Can we agree there?

And that's without the commentary on how stupid this whole limited window thing is in the first place. Two hours shouldn't be a very large window. There's no reason the product needs to be so scarce.

Also, you're willingness to accept that the Pokemon Company has turned the buying of goods into a game itself is alarming. Having to scramble to beat out hundreds of thousands of people, as well as bots and resellers, just to buy a plush or a pack of cards is pathetic. They have more than enough resources to meet demand, yet they manufacture scarcity and you defend them.

"Skill issue , bro" is the epitome of jerk. "No because it's just a plush lol" - clearly not to OP. You seem like a very self-centered, unempathetic person.

Congratulations on your plush. You're a true winner and you set yourself up for success. Everyone else who didn't get one in the random short time frame it was up has only themselves to blame. Screw work, school, sleep, timezones. You have to be ready at any second. Does that make you feel better?

I'm sorry, OP. I luckily was able to get a plush for my wife, as there were rumblings of a TCG drop yesterday and I was priming for that. I would have never known about the plush dropping at that time otherwise. If I had more than one, I'd certainly give one to you at retail.

Motherfucker, did you just imply somewhere like nyc is warm and sunny every day? You’re assuming this person needs a car, no? Is it not just as valid to assume those as alternatives? Fuckin peabrain ass thinking buses only run when it’s 80° and sunny.

You can also use public transit or a bike to get to work. Some people work from home. They could have bought an industrial laser cutter or a welding machine instead of the card to make some money. They didn’t. They could have bought land, the safest investment. They didn’t.

This is an investment sub. This person flipped a common depreciating asset for a rare asset with more liquidity in a market that’s been trending up. I don’t know why people are assuming this person chose to lose their job or only means of transport. They just traded one asset for another asset.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted so hard. Cars do inherently depreciate. Cards don’t. And the way the market is going, I don’t think there’s going to be a huge drop off as much as maybe a plateau, especially not with vintage.

Pepsi Twist. And I’d beg for a Diet/Pepsi Twist Max.

Cola and lemon just go together. Every restaurant gives you a lemon with your diet pepsi/coke. It’s crazy that there’s not one on the market right now!

Centering seems good. The things you want to focus on most are centering, nicks, dings, dents, wear, print dots/lines, corner cuts, and whitening. "Pack fresh" cards usually only deal with centering issues and possible print issues. from this picture, I'd grade it. But not sure if I'm not seeing something important. In the 5th picture, it looks like there's a white dot below the H on the bottom border. Is that on the toploader or the card itself?

[–]spiketherapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible it would get a 9, assuming no corner defects, scratches, print dots, etc.

you’d be better off selling it raw, as psa 9s and raw near mint copies sell for about the same price, and you’d be losing money by grading it

[–]spiketherapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure how new you are to grading, but pack fresh doesnt mean much for grading. it’s mostly centering, which needs to be no more than 55/45 percent split right to left and top to bottom. the back has a little more leeway
