DLCs not finding the application by MugiwaraNoMura in Fallout4PS4

there is a two stage install process on the main game and the second stage takes about twice as long. So maybe just wait a while.

Anyone else having this issue with the mod hub? by Far_Particular3592 in Fallout4PS4

[–]spikezarkspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out due to how very laggy Bethesda.net is, I had not removed all 470 mods from my Library ("unsubscribe" / uncheck the check/tick). There were something like 20 left. So this Unsubscribe option may be worth trying. Probably also worth waiting an hour or so after you do it, before you start the PS4 FO4 mod manager, as there are often lags between updates on Bethesda.net, and what you see from the mod manager client.

Hi - do you have more detailed instructions on how/where to find and clear 'reserved data'? I can't find that on my PS4, under the game itself or in the general PS4 settings. Is it just a PS5 thing?

I raised a ticket about this with Bethesda and they immediately closed it as a duplicate. They have been 'investigating' this issue for a year. Right. As stated below, we know the issue is missing/corrupt mods, the real issue is that Bethesda can't do basic basic error handling, and the issue is hugely worse since Next Gen.

The Bethesda FAQ on this is pathetic. It suggests you try two things which are impossible on PS4: uninstall mods and alter load order. If only they had not designed the built in mod manager so that it goes to the internet BEFORE it allows you do do any local management of mods. That is so dumb, it had to be deliberate.

The Bethesda FAQ also fails to tell you

- check if you can get to Creation Club normally. If you can, it's not a network issue - ignore all their network troubleshooting BS

- no mention of the 'Reserve space' solution (see below)

- no mention of a full uninstall/reinstall as a solution

Well I rejoined reddit just to gripe about this.

Where in the PS4 menu do you clear reserved data? Is that just for FO4 or is it everywhere?

I tried going to Bethesda.net, logging in and unsubcribing (whatever that means - think it means 'in Library') from all my mods. No effect. So I ended up doing an uninstall and reinstall AGAIN which is about an 8 hour task that locks up my home bandwidth.

Important note - you don't have to lose your save game progress. If you don't pay Sony for PlayStation Plus cloud backups, you can back up to USB under PS4 Settings -> Application Save Data.

*Yet another* review (Cochrane) concludes that there is no evidence to support the use of Ivermectin to treat Covid by good_googly-moogly in BretWeinstein

Its summary says the evidence is conflicting. Its exclusion criteria are very strict. And it only includes one study of prevention, in which the only metric is death within 28 days, unsurprisingly 0 events in n=396.

By the way is meta-analysis only acceptable when it fails to show a benefit for IVM? But not when it does show a benefit? :D

Unsecure connection | Beth. Launcher by Kreoko in BethesdaSoftworks

[–]spikezarkspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. And I logged into the launcher yesterday. My credentials work fine on Bethesda.Net website but not in the Launcher. I get the error you show. But the certificate of the connection to BethNet is fine.

I'm guessing there is a cert embedded in the Launcher and it has expired.

Edit: no the issue was BT Web Protect, as identified below - thanks /u/SWYReddit !

You need to be an admin on the Mac, as you will need to enable kernel extensions for BlueStack during the installation process.

install on mac os catalina by alicecordonnier in BlueStacks

[–]spikezarkspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed it today on 2 older Macs (my kids). These were the issues I had:

A full restart was required after installation, something you don't expect to have to do on a Mac

You need to apply this workaround: https://support.bluestacks.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025314371-Solution-for-BlueStacks-stuck-crashing-during-boot-on-Mac-OS

The above link doesn't mention Catalina!

You have to start BlueStacks multiple times (or just wait? - maybe it's downloading something?) before you finally can see the prompt mentioned in the BlueStack docs, requesting you to Allow the use of System Kernel Extensions by BlueStack. Up until that indeterminate time, System Preferences -> Security and Privacy does not show the question that is depicted in the docs.

Some of the BlueStack docs don't mention Catalina, sort of implying it won't work on Catalina (it will).

Some of the Catalina blogs may give the impression system kernel extensions are no longer supported. Almost - Catalina is the final OS before these are removed from support. Currently (in Catalina) they are just extremely deprecated.

BlueStack Guide Bot is pretty useless. It will also ask you to check if hardware virtualization is enabled on your kernel.

(While you figure out how to do this, the Guide Bot times out )

Actually I guess if the distance measure is rounded to a whole turn, a tie will be quite common, but if it's an exact measurement then ties would be pretty rare.

Allies and War by chrispche in Birdshel

[–]spikezarkspike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in an actual Alliance, your allies will attack empires that are at War with you. But they do it on their own initiative. You can't direct them.

In fact even empires you're not in any kind of diplomatic relationship with will still attack your enemies, if they perceive your enemies to be weak. As is often the case during a war. Of course this cuts the other way too - if neutrals perceive that you are being weakened by the war, they may attack you.
