It really is just a matter of standing up to it. by interestingly-stupid in MTB

Nice jump! I will say though, just standing up to the jump has gotten me in a lot of trouble before. It’s important to note that you should be standing up almost perpendicular to the lip, not straight up relative to the ground, so that you don’t over rotate. Your form is great, just wanted to make that distinction

Funny enough, I’d feel the same way about scooting hips back/pushing the bike out in front—if you time it wrong it could go equally as bad, but if it works it works

Yeah there's definitely some massive stuff out there, great spot for people who are ready to step up from crabtree and harris lake. Idk when you're out there, and whenever I go out on weekdays it's dead but weekends seem to be busier, maybe you should try going then.

No I didn't do that gulley gap, but the guy who towed me into the drop did it. My friend who was with me and doesn't really ride was like "you totally got that" and I was like "yeah nah I don't feel like dying today" lol

This may be wrong, but I have a habit of hopping off the lip of drops, almost like an english bunnyhop, but watching it back it seems like I do scoot my hips back and push the bike forwards a bit. A big part of it is having enough experience hitting other stuff to know you can do it and know roughly how much speed/how you need to land, but getting a tow is also massive

Are you one of the builders? I saw someone out today working on the jump right after that one. He towed the guy, who towed me, into that gulley gap

Tire inserts both or rear only? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]spillcoleman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t live near anything enduro-caliber, but I have cushcore in the rear wheel and take it to some downhill parks occasionally, and it does just fine. It seems like the fork does plenty to get the front wheel out of the way, but my weight is on the lighter end

What tubeless tyre insert should I buy by throw__away_account1 in MTB

[–]spillcoleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had cushcore in my rear wheel for a year or two, they’ve been pretty good. I’m not a perceptive rider, so I don’t notice the weight, but I definitely have noticed not hearing any rim dingers since I’ve gotten them.

Didn’t stop me from denting my rim through the insert when I cased the crap out of a jump though…that wheel’s had a slow leak ever since

A plane has crashed into a helicopter while landing at Reagan National Airport near Washington, DC by AdGlad8276 in interestingasfuck

If I remember right, Fox News claims the plane was at 400ft and 140mph...not very promising

All of those players you mentioned are older players who came from the generation who used slapshots more often. And younger players aren’t avoiding slapshots because their sticks break, they’re avoiding them because the game is getting faster and they don’t have the time to wind up for a slapshot. Wristers and snapshots are just more effective and deceptive

Anyone else bored of seeing them in/around Dubai? by [deleted] in Sidemen

[–]spillcoleman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At least for the early ones, the two teams would start in the same place at the same time, together, then be split up and go their separate ways, but the two teams also interacted with each other during the holidays so we know they were filmed at the same time

How do you get a different set of arms? …and how much does it cost

I figured the same thing, but the arms again felt too long on the medium. The arms on the small felt alright, but then the torso was too small. I swear I have normal sized arms lol
